I'd play:

Mignolet
Kelly - Skrtel - Sakho/Agger - Johnson
Henderson - Lucas - Gerrard - Sterling
Coutinho
Suarez

Hendo will support Kelly on the right side against Baines. Sterling can track back and support Johnson on the left. Coutinho in a free role behind Suarez. Need to score the first goal.

Serious question... Why would Lyon fans care? Didn't we loan him from Valencia? Seems a little strange for them to get schadenfreude about a team they don't have to face in any competition signing a player who's no longer theirs.

Unless there's some historical rivalry we have with Lyon that I've never heard of, which I guess is a possibility.

I could be wrong, but I think Lyon initially tried to loan him from Valencia as well.

There's no rivalry with Lyon, unless it's an England vs France thing.

You guys took his wage off the books with the loan deal... that's 2,4 mil Euros. That's a big deal for Lyon. The new stadium is costing a ton and they need every little bit since Aulas 100% owns it.

Why was his wage on Lyon's books? That's what I'm confused about, I thought we loaned him from Valencia...

And yeah Lukaku has torched us the last two times he played against us which is why we're a bit afraid of having Skrtel and Agger as our CBs because last season their main weakness was facing big poweful guys like Lukaku. It'll be interesting to see if Rodgers opts with Sakho or with our winning partnership from last match.

Rodgers experimented with Mamadou Sakho at left-back in the defeat to Southampton in September but he has ruled out playing the big £15million centre-back there against the Blues.

“We looked at that once and it didn't quite work for us,” he admitted.

“It's an option but we would prefer more mobility there. It takes away our offensive treat.

“I'm not concerned about that position. Cissokho and Flanagan can both play there.

“Whether Jon has played at right-back or left-back he has never let the team down.”

Damn looks like it's either going to be Flanno or Cissokho at LB.

We haven't got a great performance, if even a good one, from a full-back all season. I'd play Skrtel & Sakho to beast the hell out of Lukaku even if they're able to put in a lot of crosses. Midfield is going to be a hard-fought battle, but I'm confident that Suarez and Coutinho will open up their defense. There, three points tomorrow!
