His form is scarily good.

If only he had a better left foot...

He is a pain in the ass for defenders. Always draws fouls, very high workrate, moves to channels constantly and can play any where across the front four including SS...he wins you games.

Brazil are refusing to let go of Diego, say they will call him up in november again.

I already said that, based on our system, i would much rather have Jo or Fred over Diego.

Considering these two call up the likes of Jo and Torres, this is a little bit like two tramps fighting over pizza crust.

Are we talking normal crust or stuffed crust? no need to be comparing Diego Costa to the brilliance of stuffed crust IMO.

Torres has never suited the style of Del Bosque, so I don't think he should be called up. But that is quite harsh. Torres has done well this season. This is probably the best he's ever played for Chelsea. He's actually taking the game on and looks to have a little bit of self belief/confidence again.

He has lost that extra gear of speed, he isnt ever coming back. Nothing to do with systems or styles, he just isnt that guy anymore.

It actually does have to do with system and styles. Even when Torres was at Liverpool, after Aragones left Spain, Torres never ever performed for Spain.

Im talking today, not 5 years ago when he was supposedly great. System and style dont mean anything today, the not his (main) problem.

Agreed Dani. I mean he has had some great games this season against Bayern/Spurs but he just isn't the one man attack he used to be.

Still a best option though with Lukaku out on loan.

He was never a one man attack. He was once a great player, now he is a good one. Both the good and bad sides of his game have been grossly exaggerated.

I don't see why he wouldn't be in the conversation, what have people like Soldado, Negredo, and whoever else done to make him not a part of it?

Not about what they done, its about who they are. They have qualities they can rely on every game. What does Torres of 2013 bring anyone? I cant think of anything he really excels at anymore.

If you're putting together a team of ideal pieces, perhaps he probably doesn't offer anything that distinguishes him. But, at the very least, he's experienced every stage possible, and contributed to our success at every stage, even in his worst possible form.

He has that.
