All I want to say is hes got his strengths but also his weaknesses. But yea hes decent to watch, not the classy talented type, but interesting combo of bulldozer and a all round decent player.

Costa works hard and is difficult to play against, but lets be real he is very very limited.

His goal return isn't all that either especially considering he takes penalties.

If you want to talk about quality forwards outside the big two talk about Carlos Vela someone who actually has plentiful of ability.
People have been saying that for years. Even when Villa, Silva and Mata were in Valencia, Aguero and Forlan in Atleti, Javi Martinez, Llorente and co in Athletic, Senna and Cazorla in Villarreal.

Nick hyping up another good but no so great footballer. The man is a good forward for Atleti, nothing more.

The fact that us Liverpool fans were dreading the possible signing of this dirty vagabond of a player, says it all.

Intelligent player with some clutch moments yet is nowhere near Falcao, or the elite level of centreforwards.

I think he played on left wing last season,10 in 26 is not bad considering that.I rated him before and I still do.Think he can be a great striker if he starts banging in goals more consistently now that Falcao is gone and he's the main man.He did seem to lack killer instinct in front of goal..Also GTFO Mole, you clearly watched him couple of times tops, you are so off about his abilities...

Mr Nick09 wrote:The most underrated CF in Europe. the guy is an absolute beast, physically massive, fast, good technically, and very intelligent, annoys the fck outta defenders. He is a fantastic CF, and i am already predicting that he will be a big success in CL. When last season we said he carried atletico's attack despite Falcao, it wasnt a joke. He really did, and even in this current Atletico team he looks like a leader. Great great player, as he improves his finishing and consistency, he can easily become a top 5 CF imo.
great guy. Sad he didnt make liverpool move

Personally don't see what he would add to the Spanish squad that Negredo and Soldado don't already provide.

VDB doesn't start them, meanwhile, if Diego gets in the NT, i doubt he wont start.Specially on the form he is in.

All in all, the main problem is that if this happens VDB will start a striker and not Cesc.

Still think his thug style of play is only suited for this atletico system. If he goes to any top team that wants to play posession football hes screwed.60% intelligence/thuggery/strength 40% talent

i had no clue he was just 24 years old.. ive been watching him in la liga for years thinking he was a 30 year old man.

kinda alters my opinion tbh.. hes still so young, though he is quite limited he could be a very effective striker (not that he hasnt shown it already)

and i definitely think he can offer more than soldado and negredo, both of whom arent getting any younger.. diego costa on the other hand can be developed for this WC until the next one 2018 or at least until the next euro.

To be fair at that age Luis Fabiano was kind of the same way. Thug fighter who was on the brink of career suicide when his grandfather died. He matured, and was a great servant for the selecao.

Next year may be a wash, but if Costa can keep himself up I see no reason why he couldnt be the 9 going into the 2018 qualification campaign.

No way, Luis Fabiano was always a better all round footballer (and a thug, although not on Costa's level). One of the best finishers ive seen, complete CF...dude could get a shot at goal with every sniff of the ball.Diego just isnt that type of CF.
