Well, last time Basel had to start in the 2nd qualification round, too. But normally, Steaua should be seeded, so they would get around the more prominent Champions.

In the qualification for the CL you have two paths: The league path (where the 2nd to 4th placed teams of the leagues play for a number of CL group stage places) and the champions' path, where only the champions of the weaker leagues play for a number of qualification places for the CL group stage.

As the qualification is played as play off matches, the stronger clubs (determined by their UEFA coefficient) play against the weaker ones first. I know many players have left the team and Gardos is injured, but i think we are still way better than the norwegians.

Today we have the Super Cup against Astra.

3-5 after penalties.
We played without Gardos, Adi Popa(injuried) and Sanmartean(suspended).

Aww, no Super Cup then. Gonna have to focus on CL qualifiying then. First match against Stromsgodset looks accessable.

Considering bookmarkers opinion, the first match doesn't looks accessible. It rather looks balanced.
But my opinion is same as yours.

Aktobe won against Dinamo Tbilisi in last qualifying round with 0-1 and 3-0, total 4-0.

I've been following EL and CL since very early rounds this year....there are some very good Eastern European leagues.

Particularly impressed by Cyprus, Romania, and Greece.

Kazakhstan is improving every year as well.....Scandinavian leagues are on massive decline, whereas Eastern Europe is doing well.

After two championship winnings, i think Steaua are no longer favourites for the title. Astra is the best team now from my point of view.
