Microphones

hey guys, i have a quick question. my friends and i are gonna start our very own youtube channel on stuff in mid-september. we have a great canon camera that my friend bought for like 800$ so i know were gonna have good quality clips. but we need microphones to attach to ourselves like that u can hear us in the clips.

now my question to n e body who knows about this is:


1) should i just go to best buy/futureshop (electronic stores here in north america for those who dont know what im talking about ) and buy n e microphone and it should work?

2) how does it work? has n e body ever tried? do i just attach the micro to myself and voila? or is it a bit more complex than that?

3) n e body have a site where i can get great prices for good quality?



basically, if n e body ever filmed something that involved a camera and microphones. plz explain to me what i have to do step by step for it to work.

i just want to know from somebody, how to use a microphone that u attach to urself with a REAL camera (not a phone camera)

like on gameshows, the host has a microphone on him just like the contestant. like that us ppl at home can hear clearly what they say. thats what i want to know. how does that work? what do i do?
