Re: Varane appreciation thread
Yeah... just for you Mole. Deschamps said this about Mbiwa: "He's had a complicated season with Montpellier. He was played as a DM his last game there and hadn't played much when his departure was understood. He goes to a new club and plays 10 minutes as a DM as well. I don't feel like he's ready at this time. Where he plays is not a problem for me. But how much he plays and at what position will drive my decision."
Anyhow, i'm hoping for Sagna-Varane-Sakho-Evra-Gonalons-Matuidi-Cabaye-Valbuena-Ribery-Benzema.
Watch out for Alessandrini... he's a a lefty winger with a big shot and has been freaking amazing this year.

Re: Varane appreciation thread
I thought that was the reason Sports anyway, i'm sure him coming on the last 10 mins to play DM didn't help matters
I would expect him to get back in if he plays consistently and i'm sure he will as he was a starter before hand no?
I have heard a lot of Alessandrini recently mainly because as with any french player we have been linked with him

Will be interesting to see if Varane becomes a consistent starter now. Great performance from him anyway.

i think Deschamps made a last minute adjustment to his list, cant blame him
Yapou will take fatass Rami off that list very soon. or kosc, i have a feeling Rami offers something different, while yapou has the same strength as kosc but is more promising.

Re: Varane appreciation thread
He, smalling and jones are the best young defenders in he world imo. Smalling especially, I know he's 22 or something but he had a late start but he has no weakness to his game. He's rio and vidic combined.
Jones is so good he plays as rb and dm and doesn't look out of place.hes 19 as well
Utd apparently had verane but couldn't guarantee him games, he'd never develop here unless he's loaned out ala fabio de silva.
Well just see if the constant upheaval at Madrid or the Spanish clique affect his development in any way

Lol yeah that was a good one. Have to watch the movie again one day . Not many can match the awesomeness that is Mclovin.
I also loved the scene between the shopkeeper and the 2 cops after the robbery.

Nah, DD called Varane last time as well but didnt play. He said Varane is a regular now so he is a regular for france as well.
Rami isn't in his plans. Kos and Mbiwa will probably play

Mangala just became a starter at Porto (Rolando sold)... watch out for him. I think he bumps someone off.

Re: Varane appreciation thread
Mangala plays over Rolando, even before Rolando being moved. In fact Rolando is being moved mostly because he aint a automatic starter anymore.
Mangala has been the best CB at the club for about 6 months already.

You should. Porto rejected an offer of 15 million Euros by Arsenal this winter and the only reason was that they knew he was going to be the starter. Rolando has been beaten out this year too.... they just think Mangala is going to be a superstar and created the space for him. Typical Porto business.
I've followed Mangala for a while and he's the absolute real deal. Parisian too lol.

If Mangala played for Real he would be the 3rd best defender of all time behind Varane and Beckenbauer in Nick's view.

Re: Varane appreciation thread
Varane was just on another level. He outpaced everyone - including Messi. And some of his tackles were incredible. He had no business getting to some of those balls, and he made clean tackles too.

Re: Varane appreciation thread
Good in the air, tall, good pace for a defender and most importantly with a very cool head . He barely fouls and never goes down with out thinking twice.. He is a complete package.
