Ricardo Costa Appreciation Thread

Just watching Deportivo vs Valencia which Deportivo are winning 2 - 1.Of course Ricardo Costa was at fault for the 2 goals.

I guess my question is how the *bleep* has this guy managed to have a semi decent career? Every time I watch him he is absolutely awful,I could talk sit here and rate all his attributes but it would be pointless as it's much easier to just say he sucks at everything.I can't think of anything he's good at,he just can't defend,and if you look at his face when the camera zooms in on him you can tell he knows that he can't defend and is a god awful football player.It's like he is totally lost out there,he looks permanently worried.He is one of the worst players I have seen play in La Liga,one of the worst CB's I have ever seen,in fact the only thing worse than Ricardo Costa at Center Back is Ricardo Costa at Right Back.

Just checked out his wiki page and it seems he has a Champions League and Europa League winners medal to his name. :facepalm:

12 caps for Portugal as well.So what happened did he used to be a competent defender and has regressed quickly? Anybody who watched him when he played for Porto?

I am tired of him *bleep* up every time Valencia have to defend,why are Valencia insisting on playing Victor Ruiz as a DM and playing this guy here instead?

No, at Porto he was mostly at back up. Has always been terrible and will always be terrible.

Valencia are struggling really bad financially. Even after selling so many players for amazing prices, they can't get the players they want. Last year Rami was excellent and it didn't matter much at the back. This season he has been poor and the fact Ricardo is next to him doesn't help either.

Ricardo is one of those poor players who are always "there" for some reason. Always been this poor, even Lille didn't buy him lol .

LOL I actually cheered when he scored,I was starting to feel kind of sorry for him. Laughing

And I have see Bernat play a few times now and he looks like he is going to be a very good player indeed,set up Valdez's goal today with some quick step overs and then a low cross.He can beat players for fun.
