Don't see what RVP has to do with Mata. If anything, it means either Rooney or Kagawa are off. No way Rooney starts over RVP upfront and, assuming Rooney players behind RVP, it leaves Kagawa as 3rd/4th choice

Rooney is better than RvP.

The only reason he's playing "deeper" is because they lack creativity. If Mata comes in, Rooney goes back as the CF.

Can see Kagawa going back to Dortmund, but would love him at Liverpool. No chance of signing him though.

Rooney will be entering the final year of his contract this summer, is on the highest wages at the club (as far as I am aware) and has several times indicated he would be willing to leave the club if he's preferences aren't met.

Oh yeah, and he's in demand, particularly from the club who (very oddly) seem willing to deal with a club otherwise seen as a rival and therefore not open to transfers.

Seems to me there's a definite favourite to be moving out if Mata comes in.

50mil for Rooney is a bit ludicrous for a player who has only like 3-4 years left in a top level. Mata could be the next in line for Moyes.

even if we do end up getting mata, kagawa can get games IMO. I dont see him leaving jus because of that. ( unless of course Moyez think otherwise and want him out)

He and Januzaj or even he and rooney can play in rotation. He can be the 1st choice back up in any of the 2 or 3 positions  up front . And that is just the present scenario I am talking about. He is young, once RvP and rooney much older guys call it a  day shinji can walk into the team.

If mata arrive, young and valencia should be the ones who should just GTFO from Old Trafford. No places for those beeps after that.

Rooney out, and Mata does more harm than good for United. Let's not forget that they pretty much need a new defence (Rio, Vidic, Evra etc) all may be leaving, Carrick isn't getting any younger in midfield, Cleverley is still first team, your wingers have gone to shit since SAF has gone.

He is the only player apart from januzaj may be moyes favours in this team and is playing therefore full of confidence. If it was SAF then rooney would have left thats certain. But with moyes at the helm, we are somewhat confident

You've just splashed the cash on Fellaini... he can't exactly play as a DM / CM, he needs to play as a CAM.

You have Kagawa.

Yet you lack quality in defence, out on the flanks. Why would you splash the cash on a central player?

True, there has to be some alterations regarding our tactic if we sign mata. Will have to kinda eliminate the traditional wing play (first step for that by selling Young and valencia ) and adopt may be a chelC style football. by using AML and AMR instead of wingers.
And if we do that its a win-win as it suits the kinda players we have.

More than anything else, I think its the uber desperation which is fuelling this sort of a move now as we can all see. The cry for creativity and quality is making these guys go all out for the guy. I am sure they are not concerned at the moment where they play him and all. They just want him.

fellaini transfer is a failure. Even moyes might have understood that by now. And its very unlikely he will play as a AMC for united. He will play 2 or 3 years as a back up CM simply for the big cash spent on him and then the club will look to offload him for even half that amount.

I don't get those ManU fans who say Moyes is playing negative, unentertaining football. I for one have been hugely entertained by Manchester United this season.

For what it's worth, I think David Moyes could have scored one of those penalties. How did the best player in the world, Januzaj, and the best rightback on the planet, Rafael, both miss?!
