Sony is in trouble. I might get one for the new controller and the exclusives. In the US, it's possible to get XSS together with the microsoft game pass with a per month fee which opens up lots of money saving possibilities for games.
Sony is rumored to have two models at 399% and 499$ price point. Most people have got a HD or FHD TV/monitor at home so Xbox Series S is more than enough for games like Fortnite, CoD Warzone etc.

I'm not interested in it but it'll be huge for M$ a lot of parents will be convinced by the price and tagline and get that for their kids next gen.

especially when the only Sony alternative will probably be double the price

They'll also have more AAA SP games. They heard the criticism this game and bought studios like Obsidian and Ninja Theory. Also made efforts to convince Japanese devs to release more games on Xbox, which paid off with Nier and Yakuza releasing on Xbox.

Good stuff indeed. Competition will only benefit gamers.

Ngl if the performance hit isn't absolutely drastic i might consider getting one down the line when stuff like Fable is released.

I can't really justify buying two 499 consoles and barely touching one of them, but i can justify it at this price point.

I genuinely would like to see the differences come launch.

If Sony now announces PS5 for $499, MS will just go out and sell XSX for $450 claiming leaks to be false (even though they leaked it themselves).

Series X has been confirmed to cost 499 RG, i imagine PS5 will be the same.

Is there any chances Sony goes for the $399? i understand the cost of making a PS5 doesn't justify that price tag but maybe they care so much about their market share they might actually accept selling their units with losses.

They also attack Nintendo Switch with the price tag. There're shitloads of games in game pass, Fortnite or CoD Warzone can be played much better and with a better controller than Switch. Parents might buy XSS instead of Switch because it's cheaper overall.

I will always make it open how pathetic one is for being a "fanboy" of a console as if their identity depends on their success just because they bought their console.


But Sony fans, need to understand the success of Microsoft's XBOX is absolutely crucial to Sony being as good as they are.

If Sony does reach a further gap knowing them and their history they will rest on their laurels and begin to disappoint. A lot of their recent CEOs and large scale moves in shaking things up (and brought fruitful results) were of Microsoft's success.


So I indeed hope XBOX succeeds. More so I am even leaning towards Xbox this generation.

Microsoft is introducing Xbox Game Pass for Xbox, PC and Android for 10€/month in Germany. Games in all accounts are synchronized, lots of good games there. On Android, games are stream through cloud so you can play with a crappy mobile anyways, only the connection is important.
I'm going to get it and maybe an Xbox Series S out of convenince and the controller next to the TV.

I think it's not as big a deal as it would have been 5 years ago.

People were disappointed with Fallout 4, they straight up hated Fallout 76 and been consistently criticising them since Fallout 4.

You don't get to do that and then sweep it all under the rug when it suits you, this isn't the same Bethesda who were on top of the world post Skyrim

I just get the impression people are looking at this irrationally and forgetting everything that's happened since Fallout 4 like it never happened.
