Looking to buy a new laptop
I want an i7 that's a 17", the rest is whatever really.. Not a big fan of mac's so I pretty much narrowed it down to these two but any recommendations will be taken into account.. I chose Asus because I heard they're top notch

I wanted the ROG one at first but I don't do as much gaming as I used to these days, and if I do it's on my PS3.. Plus it's a little too much of a tank and I heard it has a shit battery life
I think the other one is pretty powerful can will still be able to play the newest games decently, no?

Eww 17 inch why?
Portability is there no doubt, but without a doubt you'd be able to (of course if you want to) a desktop and not only get more but also spend less in the process

Re: Looking to buy a new laptop
I like manly laptops jks.. The one I have now is 17" and I hate using smaller laptops, I don't see how anyone would want a smaller screen if they can get a bigger one lol

Why?
You don't watch movies on it? Game? Surfing the web in general is better with a nice big screen imo

Re: Looking to buy a new laptop
I do watch movies a 13 inch screen is just fine for movies. Sort of the same concept on a tablet etc
Surfing the web on a bigger screen is indeed nice but I don't mind the scrolling and gaming? I have a console for that. Only game I've played on PC was The Walking Dead.
Besides I might just do a Macbook Air 13 inch. And just mirror with apple tv to my 42 inch mounted on my wall. Boom.
Insta big screen 1080p goodness all wireless.

Re: Looking to buy a new laptop
Six years ago, I bought a 17" laptop and I regretted over my decision to get a big screen. It was heavy and too bulky to carry around.
Now, I prefer a 13" screen for a laptop and an external monitor.

Same here.... but still stuck on mine, will probably get an ultrabook in a year or two. or if Win 8 tablets become any good will get them, too expensive and not worth it atm

Re: Looking to buy a new laptop
I don't mind carying my 17" around at all.. I don't take my laptop out of the house much, so when it's chilling on my desk I prefer a big screen.. It's kind of like a desktop that way, but if I need to take it some where I can thus still having the convenience of a laptop
