A suggestion. Maybe below the football news can you add in a blogs section where users can create blogs/articles about football. It will encourage quality writing from the professional users on GL. Just adding in stuff I see on other forums...

We'd need to see some indication that there are more than a couple people that could potentially write such blogs before adding them. As it is we haven't seen anything to suggest that there are.

Why does it even have to be football related? I think a blog section devoted to anything from a football article, to women, to a funny post, to sharing of particular recent activities (like a vacation) would be a good idea.

While I can agree that there hasn't been enough indication that a purely football related blog section could survive here, one thing our forum is great at is being off topic. I think a general blog area is a possibility that deserves some thought at least.

I didn't say anything about the topics being football related, I merely said that there has not been enough indication or people with the necessary skill and quality to make a blog section worthwhile.

When posters like Viva, Mole, and RealGunner are some of the most prominent it says a lot about the (lack of) quality around here, sadly. If only we had more Indiana.Freakin.Jones, The Kop FC, Artillerist, and MeeP MeeP...

I guess the majority of the users that write in the Clean Debate Section could write blogs, if they continue to post quality... I mean yes, your right (RO) about the lack of quality though if CDS continues to prosper in quality writing in threads then maybe is this a possibility?

I'm always willing to write articles for this site, and the lack of quality is genuinely annoying. Whilst some of us spend a good few mins on a post, touching subjects in depth, others like to use the stupid troll images and one liners, which essentially kills off the discussion.
