Varane a starter next season?

He damn well should be.

I've never seen a more cultured centre-back... and he's frikken 19!

In 2 years he'll be better than the likes of Vidic, Silva, Kompany etc. In 10 years, he'll be up there with the greats.

he is still nothing right now, lets concentrate on the present, he needs to take it step by step.

i dont mind if he is not a starter.. its soon yet

but i want him at least to take more minutes next season
at least take some minutes in important games to see how he does

Yeah, it is a step by step process.
But he definitely needs more minutes.
And we've seen all of Mou's pattern managerial characteristics come to fruition... except one.
We haven't seen him develop a really classy youngster, ala Davide Santon. He's said that he's looking to pick a younngster to boost to World class status - I had John Terry/Frank Lampard types in mind.
I honestly think Varane is his man.

nah Pepe has 2 good years and is one of the best in his position, if it werent for his hotheadedness, dont get me wrong I love Varane, thinking about that kid when he gets older makes me.... happy....
he is great on the ball but lets ease him in, give him a couple more starts next season, I dont think it will be hard, Carvalho and Albiol are both leaving, we will definitely be needing his services more often than last year

You guys should loan him to another Liga club or something. He'd be a GOAT.

He'd develop much faster that way than erratic games now and then in meaningless matches.

Hopefully he'll be at least the 3rd choice CB next season.

he will be 3rd choice next year, he was technically 3rd choice last year technically if you break down the minutes played.

but he will get more time, i think what will happen is carvalho will leave (or albiol but more likely carvalho) and varane will get most of those minutes that he would have played.

Varane will get more minutes this season, he already became 3rd choice midway through last year but now he will be more involved rotationwise, with the defence already set. He will probably take over from Pepe the following year, if everything goes according to plan.

oh and especially if we dont sign a new RB I can see a lot more rotation with ramos shifting right and varane playing in the middle..

also ramos and pepe get the most cards out of any cb duo ive ever seen so count on them missing a lot of games.

varane can play as a right back as well, defensive mid too.

instead of the right back search why not play varane a rb and let him develop and move into the centre back position like ramos did.

He has talent and will definately be a great defender for Madrid in the future. I don't actually see him starting next season only in those games before the CHampions League, Copa Del Rey or ordinary games aganist promoted teams. Im annoied that Albiol isn't getting a good go at Madrid, he needs to be good for Spain if Pique, Puyol or Ramos get injuried and he hasn't had the amount of time that he needs. Albiol should go to CHelsea or Manchester CIty as I can't really see him improving at Madrid.

as it stands now he is the 4th best CB on our team, and its fairly evident, might even be 5th after carvalho. its no ones fault but his own.. if he want to move to england then so be it, he is very replaceable.

i agree, i think albiol is quite ordinary.

and he makes mistakes.

Albiol is only getting the 'go' because Ricardo is injuried. If he wasn't Im sure he wouldn't have that much time. I guess he isn't performing so Im a going a bit overhead.

20 million? Guys, we are lucky if a 10 mil offer comes in. We already overpaid to get him from Valencia. Albiol is very average (not to say absolutely crap), I would get rid of him even before Carvalho. I have no idea how he keeps getting called up for Spain (VDB lulz), but he more often than not performs for them.
