Moratti praises rivals Juventus
Inter President Massimo Moratti has complimented the football of arch-rivals Juventus. “I’m impressed.”
The Old Lady have recovered from two successive seventh-placed finishes in the League to lead the standings with just six games left.
“I’ve been impressed by Juventus,” the Nerazzurri owner stated when asked about the Scudetto race. “They are doing really well, they’re playing well and their football is very efficient.
“It’s certainly a novelty, something that we did not expect this season but something that has arrived.
“Milan? They remain strong structurally, but my preference would be Napoli…”
Juventus are a point clear of Milan and 14 ahead of Lazio in third. The latter occupy the last Champions League spot and are six points ahead of the Nerazzurri.
“You always regret every point you drop,” Moratti added. “For example, we only had to beat Cagliari in Trieste and we’d be closer to third place – that makes you realise how careful you have to be.
“Every game is difficult and our rivals have the same target as us. We want it and now I think we have a new reason to hope.”
The oil baron also rejected speculation that Inter could welcome back Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo over the summer.
“I read that too but I don't know anything about it,” he noted. “I speak to him every now and then – the last time was for the Thiago Motta deal, which went well for both parties.”
