I actually felt for AVB.. the guy didn't have a chance from day one. When Mourinho was at the club, AVB was a backroom boy, more or less... he was always seen as such in the eyes of the old guard i.e Drogba, Lampard, Terry etc... he had no chance!! it's actually good for his career that he left, hope his reputation hasn't been damaged too much so he can rebuild what was a very promising career

I wouldnt hate AVB as coach in truth actually, certainly over Enrique who still has a bit to prove for me.

Though, if im honest, nothing short of old man Cruyff himself would fill me with much confidence in the replacement of Pep.

Doubt it very much. Roma are completely behind LE at the moment, and have given no indication to think of his term in the short-term. I fully expect LE to stay at Roma for at least 2 years.

I think this all comes about because there's supposed to be some phantom clause in LE's contract with us that stipulates that Barcelona can take him back at any time should Pep leave.

What is puzzling is that Baldini knows about this and rubbished it, but then was seen talking to AVB which essentially means he's worried it could actually happen?

I dont see LE going anywhere either.

He has a new project going on and unlike at Chelsea, it seems people higher up have the foresight to see its a long term thing which takes time and work.

If Barca come calling will he leave? I would like to think not, because he has started something and it would be good for him to see it through a bit more.

I also dont think Barca would come calling anyway, just yet.

Inter surely can't do any worse than what they have now. AVB probably the best coach on the market (without a job and wants to be employed). As much as I like to see Inter out of Milan's way (and believe me, I'm thoroughly enjoying it), they are doing so badly right now it is unhealthy for Serie A in Europe.

Seriously, Marseille are going to advance at their expense in the CL unless Ranieri is fired or their players put in a uncharacteristically superb performance. Last season when Leonardo crossed to the dark side just before their 2nd leg v Bayern it worked spectacularly. One more loss for Inter and I suspect AVB will be getting a call from Moratti.

(the irony if Chelsea somehow goes through against Napoli and Inter loses to Marseille with AVB)
