Frankly, its laughable that you can bring the conception that Stubsi in his current defensive form is better than Ramos at CB.

Badstuber isn't better than Ramos, but Koscielny in recent form definitely is.

His first reason was mehish, but this year he's been amazing as Arq said. Even better than Vermaelen.

There is a reason both Puyol and Maldini rate Ramos so highly and don't give me he sucks at RB becouse that was never his natural position. His real position has always been CB and that is why he is beasting at CB

Its like when Arsenal plays Vermaelen at fullback, he is no fullback so he can't perform like a god there

I just thought that "King Clumsy" is a bit of an over exaggeration. ^^

BTW, I just read an interview with Badstuber in the kicker (print version, so no link, sorry). If I find the time I might translate it as I think it is pretty interesting to read.

i don't know about that, there aren't many more intelligent CBs out there. Had Messi in his pocket last season in the CL (without even manhandling him a la Pepe)....decent in the 8-2 match as well haha!

Kos' smart can be compared to Carvalho's, but considering he still has his legs intact.

Vermaelen at fullback obviously isn't going to perform as well... he's out of frakking position. It's like bitching when Coentrao is mediocre in midfield.

Just curious but do ppl and especially Real fans rate Pepe or Ramos higher? Razz

I think Ramos is underrated, not the best CB purely, but he plays so well at RB and gets so many goals...

Although there must still be some missing from the list, eg. Zanetti? Lucio?

I'd take Ramos over Pepe at CB.

I don't rate Pepe highly due to his poor balance, poor discipline and haphazard style of play.

Better defenders at CB: Thiago Silva, Pique, Puyol, Nesta, Kompany, Vermaelen, Collocini, Vidic, Chiellini, Barzagli.

I rate him very high as you see, clearly the best defender in Madrid.

He is overrated to some extent. He is a rock but he is very slow.. Wouldn't be able to handle the high line.

I don't rate him as the best defender in the world. TS is better. And no he would never start for us. Would get burned the second he stepped in vs Barca against Messi and co.

I'm not sayin' that he would start, because that is something we would never know, till he joins RM if he. I myself hope Real Madrid get Vidic or any other defender I mentioned bar Vermaelen, because they're better than Pepe too, Ramos and one of those defenders would be rock solid.
