Great player, not as versatile as marcelo tho

I would have said we need him if Marcelo was sh1tting on himself but with Marcelo showing real form, I wonder what exactly would be his purpose.

To play RB, nah, wouldn't mind seeing to see if possible but too much at stake at Real to play one is experimenting...

He would be better off at a club where a LB is needed like Bayern, Liverpool etc.

Dont agree at all, marcelos technical skills are alot better. He is much better heading towards the box and at dribbling (marcelo is better than cris at that). Coentrao likes the sides too much, he simply cant get into the box if he doesnt have space.

imma keep believing my source at EC about this, while being prudent, but i bite my tongue if this doesnt go through.

they asked mourinho about him, and he didnt call him the portuguese marcelo this time, things have changed

A decent player, but tbf we could pick up Monreal for half the price and he would cause no problems on the bench and is just as good.

This I would love for that to happen. But we can not forget that Coentrao still remains a choice for RB.

Coentrao gets destroyed by decent opposition on the left flank with his preferred foot, you want to put him on the right? ok then.....

I am resigned to the fact that we are buying him, that seems pretty clear. But confused none the less.

If you watched him for Benfica like I have you will notice he has alot of trouble with players cutting in on his flank, even in the qualifiers you can see it, in the recent game for Portugal for example they got past him quite a few times.

Marcelo is by far the better player atm, but maybe Jose wants another pet project. Coentrao is quite excellant at going forward so maybe that's what Jose is looking for.

Dont get me wrong, i think it's foolish to sign him, yet we seem to be signing him

Buying Coentrao is not such a bad idea. If it doesn't work out, we could always move Ramos back to RB and sell Coentrao.

I do think we're going to try moving Marcelo because he has a better right foot.

Yeah. Except Marcelo just figured out how to play defense on the left... He has this weird left-footed lunge tackle that he uses. he'd have to figure it out all again on the other side.

Nah he will be rb , against every team except barca. I honestly think Mourinhio wants him to have a Di Maria type slave on the wings against barca.

This corentrao discussion is really wierd.I got a question , do we have a buy back clause on opare? Cuz he was F**king beasting at standard liege this season.

This is no time to be buying players and selling them if they do not fit. We have so much pressure to buy win trophies mou needs to think his transfer through properly it may be his last summer with us I am pretty sure he knows what he is doing. He is one fo the few manager I trust with money buying Coentrao means he is gonna use him and keep him.

why would we do this right when Marcelo is showing hes actually reliable

if we had made this move last ear then it woulve been acceptable but not now

i cant see marcelo at lb though.

in interviews mou said he likes coentrao because of his multiuse.

i think he will be a rb after all.

I personally didn't think Opare was that good.

Sorry to say, Opare just wasn't Real Madrid quality. Good prospect but wasn't worth the keep apparently...

The way Mourinho and Coentrao has talked to media about versatility clearly indicates that Coentrao's role is not going to be a LB.
