I think now is a very very very CRUCIAL time to start noting a HUGE issue we WILL face in the future if nothing is done now.

We started with people from goal.com forums.
We most likely didn't recover every single person.
Active members get banned (not questioning your decisions here, I agree, you have no choice)
People get bored and stop posting.

There's no where to go from here but downhill in terms of forum activity. Surely we must get new members somehow?

There's always advertising... That would increase this place's activity (even though I think it's active enough).

we have been getting new members ever since september. We don't advertise at all and still manage to get about 10 new active posters per month. That is kinda impressive

I guess some of us could go to forums of footy clubs and make a short "hi, if you're interested in an all-round & up-and-coming football forum, check out goallegacy. Cheers." -thread.

I wouldn't go to other similar forums like GL, they might not like it ^^

Finding our forum from google is so easy. search everything about football and google leads you to this forum in it's first page.

Also we have 100 guest as i'm writing it, they just have to register and join the forum.

Thats why is why I believe they should be able to register to see the threads inside.

I think we are doing fine, its a new site and it will only get bigger. like RG said 10 members per months is really impressive.

I think the moderators and administrators do an admirable job. You forget that these are young guys who are either working or are students and do this on their spare time. The fact they find time to do it at all is quite nice. I have felt their wrath a bit too much for my liking, but generally they are good at cleaning up sections and mediating disputes. :coffee:

If I was trying to find a forum to join, and I saw one that you had to register to view threads, I'd go 'FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU', and look for another one.

Agreed. And most of those guest are guys who have not logged in if I am not mistaken.
