Are we relying too much on Suarez?
Okay, he's a world-class player so obviously he is going to get a lot good stuff done.
But are we relying a little too much on him? How well would we cope if we lost him to an injury?
He's our top goal-scorer with 7 in all competitions.
BPL goals:
4 Suarez
1 Gerrard, Bellamy, Carroll, Adam, Henderson, Skrtel
2 Own Goals in our favour.
That's 33% of our BPL goals scored by one player, while every other player is below 10%.
We've scored 7 times in the League Cup with 3 (or 43%) of those coming from Luis.
Your thoughts?

Re: Are we relying too much on Suarez?
you can say we always rely on our "in form" players, but i don't think we are solely relying on him, its like when we had Torres, he was our spear head.
Dalglish has brought in quality to supply our strikers, at the moment (or more importantly last nights game) we relied on Suarez to score, even though Carroll had a few opportunities. also the fact that we have Stevie Fit and well again, and Adam to partner him, as well as Lucas, Hendo, Kuyt, Bellamy, Downing. all capable of supporting our front men, the stress should be less on Suarez, but obviously there will be games where we are going to need him more than most (last night prime example).
to be honest even if we were relying on him too much, it really doesn't look it's bothering him so much, he plays with so much passion its nothing but positive for the club

Yeah, it's no problem as long as he's fit. I'm merely hoping that it won't be a situation like "Arsenal with Van Persie out injured" with us if Suarez gets injured.
And I agree that we should have a rather good "supporting cast" to our strikers, but even then a rather big percentage of our goals has been coming from Suarez' brilliance. Although what would also be interesting would be a game where Luis isn't playing / starting.

Re: Are we relying too much on Suarez?
The star players always stand out.
We have Gerrard just returning to fitness, Bellamy, Kuyt, Downing, Carroll, Henderson, and Maxi who all can pick up the slack. Yes, some are off-form, but it's just as likely they'll find form as it is Suarez will lose his or get injured.
Further, Suarez looks as good as he does in part THANKS to his teammates. Henderson, for example, was an integral part of both goals yesterday, first distracting Huth long enough to isolate the other Stoke player against Suarez (giving Luis the chance to nutmeg him) and then with his lovely cross.
That said, it's always preferable to have more players like Suarez than less, so I would be delighted to see a top grade attacking player signed for the right side (and a 4-3-3 tried).

We need others to step up and share the load. We can handle Gerrard being injured but could we handle an injury to Suarez?

Our chance creation rate would certainly drop, but we should still remain rather strong in midfield, like we have so far this season.

Re: Are we relying too much on Suarez?
you have to take into account that suarez is the number one outlet in your team, most the build up is based on creating chances for him so i dont really think you have too much of an issue here.
if you were playing a system with 2 up front like a 4-4-2, 4-3-1-2 etc then you have more of an issue becase suarez is scoring so many while the other forward is scorung none, and yes i know carroll is playing a fair bit this season but i think he plays alot more of a role in the build up (winning the arial contests, holding the ball up etc) because of his size then suarez is
