Alberto Aquilani

Post by BiasedMilanFan3 on Mon Oct 24, 2011 10:33 pm

Do you consider him a cornerstone of our team?

He was our MOTM against Bate (imo) and, along with Boateng, gave Milan that adrenaline shot against Lecce

He has the traits that Milans midfield NEEDS, whether he can always perform is another thing but hes shown us that when is on form, he makes our midfield tick

When he is on his game, he is excellent for us. Let's hope that he can produce these performances consistently because yes he is pulling all the strings in midfield.

Cmon guys, both Nocerino and Aqua adapting, really good for us, but these are not players that will take us to the next level-they are here to help, but not to play the main role

He's the cornerstone of our current midfield when everyone is fit in my eyes and my immediate priorities lie in replacing those around him, so I consider him integral at this point in time. I prefer Aquilani to Seedorf in part due to the issues of fitness surrounding their respective ages, but also the need to gradually move on from the era of our Dutch maestro.

If Aquilani has a poor game, we can still work around it though in my eyes, which is the most important thing.

Aquilani and Nocerino fit perfect into our mid, I'm very happy with them. I sat back and didn't post while everyone posted about how bad they were and decided to come back once they showed their true colors. Hate to say it, told you so.

Aquilani really impressed me today. He was everywhere. Did you notice how he covered for Ambrosini every single time Parma attacked? Ambro was too slow to keep up with the play. Aquilani was defending and attacking in every play and doing so better than any of our midfielders. Very, very impressive to me. With this form and effort he is showing, I would say he is our most important midfielder at the moment.

I never thought he would be this good, at least so far.

I still can't say yes based on a handful of performances. Consistancy should determine whether he's able to be a cornerstone member of this team. Still too early to tell. I'm happy with his last couple games, but that's all the credit I'll give for now.

To be fair to Montolivo, he's trapped in a club he can't wait to leave, it's hardly a surprise that he's not playing well at the moment. The Florentines are an unfriendly bunch at the best of times, let alone when they hate you.

We are looking for consistency with Aquilani over an entire season, he's done this before for Roma and even Juventus, we just need him to keep it up. If he does though, he's an absolute steal for 6 million euros.

The problem with Aquilani was the injury. If Milanlab can fix that, we probably has just gotten one of the most talented Italian midfielder out there =O
