I mean we lost to Bologna. We also lost Pellegrini, El Shaarawy, Abraham and Karsdorp. All strong players so far this season.
What happened against Inter was very predictable.

Anyways well done by Beppe who once again gets the best out of a player everybody in their right mind thought he would flop. The day we let go of him was a tragedy and a turning point for us. No director is even close to his competence in terms of football.
Not just Beppe being a GOAT but also Inzaghi is the right coach for Calhanoglu. Doing the same with him as he did with Luis Alberto

Atalanta are on a 5 match winning streak, and have their players returning from injury after a difficult period, their next 5 matches
Hellas (A)
Roma (A)
Genoa (H)
Torino (A)
Udinese (H)
Before they face Inter (A), could see them stake a claim for the top spot

Verona is probably the hardest match in that group.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Funny how Inter fans keep drumming on about Calhanoglu being a coup for banging in long shots against Venezia & Genoa
All the while, paying him €5.5m p/y, no wonder they're struggling to renew Brozovic/Perisic, if i were them i'd be demanding the same if not more. In the meantime, Suning is under extreme financial duress, if not gone already.
0 impact for us, if not, we're better off without him

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
From a pure gameplay perspective, we are worse than we were in 2020, but better than we were in 2021, and that has a lot to do with Hakan's form.
In 2020 (the year, and not the season), he was performing to near WC levels, creating the second most chances in Europe at the time. His free-kick delivery (crosses more than shots) was devastating, and the entire tea was playing with high confidence which helped him a lot.
He massively dropped off in the second half of last season due to Covid and other things, and frankly does not justify his salary.
Being a disloyal bastard, I am sure he enjoyed going to Inter to rub it in. One of the most unpleasant footballers I have ever seen.
From a sporting perspective, we actually didn't compensate well from losing him (unlike with Dollarumma), and he does make Inter play better, so it's a net loss.

I saw that Napoli's Osimeh transfer is being investigated too?
definitely looks dirty, sending a bunch of players they valued at 20M the other way, who were then promptly released by Lille? theyre now playing in Serie D lol, seems legit

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Lille as a club received only 10 millions from this transfer the rest is vanished out of supposedly 81 millions but in reality much less was paid by Napoli
They banned co-ownership which was the lesser scam so clubs started to inflate values. This grey zone was abused for years in plain sight yet it will be hard to prove fraudulent motives.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Bennacer has been completely shit for most of this season. Literally, half of the goals we concede are directly related to his mistakes. He has been shit all match, with risky passes and nervous play, and finally passes the ball to Udinese and they score.
In a way, it could have been saved, but all the ball deflections are not going our way at all.
Anyway, without Kjaer and Calabria, we find a lot of difficulty in getting the ball out. This is becoming a tactical problem, as it is obvious Pioli doesn't have a plan B.
Our offense is completely isolated, and Diaz has completely lost his early-season form. It's clear we have not replaced Hakan at all.
Still, despite all of that, 90% of the goals we concede are due to obvious direct errors, and that's frankly not acceptable for a team wishing to get CL football.

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
A Zlatan-isc goal at the end salvages a draw and exposes a lack of patient build-up.
Maldini showed more physicality in the AM role than Diaz, and honestly now warrants more of a try at that role considering the poor form of the spaniard.
This is the kind of match we should easily win, and it looked that way in the first 15 minutes despite some sloppy play.
However, a killer mistake from Bennacer in combination to a lesser degree with the disastrous Bakayoko undid the entire gameplan, and it showcases our lack of a plan B.
Theo has been terrible since playing for France (or getting Covid) and the same for Diaz (playing with Spain and getting Covid). Without Kjaer, neither Tomori nor Romagnoli can play accurate long balls, which makes getting the ball out extra difficult. We are also missing Calabria in that regard, who knows how to trap long balls coming to his flank.
Anyways, the match makes it clear why reasonable Milan fans have always been saying we are not the prime scudetto contender, especially with our injury record. While Inter are weaker than last year in some fronts, Milan are also weaker than last year (losing Hakan, and Ibra growing older by a year).
The only thing remaining now if the Napoli-Milan match gives the illusion of a two-horse race between the winner and Inter, or just giving them the scudetto then and there.

They looked dangerous in the counter (after getting the ball with their 8 man defense), but they only looked that after we basically gifted them the first goal.
Classic park-the-bus routine.

On another note, have we won any match that Bakayoko started?

Re: Calcio Saga 21/22
Napoli actually is as unlucky with injuries as Milan, and they don't have a good enough bench. This was the issue with Gattuso's Napoli last ear, who missed Osmihan.
Watch Inter go front from this match and not lose it for the rest of the season.
