Rafa Benitez believes that Juventus are amongst the favourites for the Serie A title this season.

The 51-year-old former Liverpool and Inter coach was impressed by Antonio Conte's team as they defeated AC Milan 2-0 on Sunday evening.

And he believes they can use that victory as the springboard to mount a title challenge.

"Juventus have a very good chance of winning the league title," Benitez told Eurosport.

"AC Milan and Inter have not started the season well and do not seem super competitive as they have been in the past.

"Napoli is certainly a team to watch and are near the top of the table and will fight to the end, but Juventus is a great club."

Benitez is also impressed by the effect the move to Juventus Stadium has had on the club, and believes the atmosphere generated by the fans may work in the Turin giants' favour this season.

"With the new stadium, Juventus can count on the contribution of the fans more," he added.

Juventus head into the international break joint top of Serie A alongside Udinese following their victory over Milan. They have taken a total of 11 points from their opening five games.

Former Inter boss Rafael Benitez believes that Juventus have to be considered as Scudetto contenders.

“Juventus are among the favourites for the championship,” the currently unemployed Spanish tactician told Eurosport.

“Milan and Inter haven’t lived up to expectations so far and they have squads which are weaker than they have been in the past.

“Juventus, also thanks to their new stadium, have an extra gear. However, let’s not forget Napoli either. They too are a side to keep an eye on.”

Juventus, who beat Milan 2-0 on Sunday, are co-leaders of Serie A with Udinese. Napoli are just a point behind.

Milan and Inter are struggling with just five and four points respectively from the opening five games of the campaign.
