Define tap-in for me because I think we might have a difference on the definition.

Assisted goal scoring situation, where goalie is not between you (ball) and goal.

All this shows me is that Ronaldo and Messi score a lot of goals and that Messi played in more competitions.

Actually showed me that Ronaldo is not making all tap-ins only 11 as i can tell. And also a whole lot of Özil Assists

But it's not Ronaldo's fault that his positioning is so good. after all what counts is number of goals.
10 years later no one remember Ronaldo has scored all those goals by tap in or Messi always dribbled past four players to score a goal.
