Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
Illaramndi is a midget and we cant pair him with the likes of Modric or Gundogan with him. While Jose Rodriguez is tall, excellent on the ball and very good physically and better defensive contribution/putting body in the line...i think we can mold Jose R to a busquets/Guardiola type player.
Not calling for Jose to get promoted now btw; He is just 18.

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
Jose Rodriguez is nowhere near ready. He needs to go somewhere on loan and see if he can play at a top level before coming to Madrid. Jese is the only exception because he has off the charts skills.. We need to buy people in the CM/DM area.

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
Jose is one of my fav cantera players, i expect him to make it big, he has it all, all the qualities needed to be a complete midfielder, just need to polish them out and he is ready for the first team, a full dominating season in castilla will be enough.
I also like the inter midfielder, kovacic, we should sign him if we fail to sign gundogan.

Jose Rodiguez 180 cm (realmadrid website)
Illarramendi 177cm (espn, 179cm transfermarket)
ok adit, 2-3 centimeters difference, amazing

If only Javi Martinez was signed last year. Would have been a good partner for Modric/Gundogan.

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
Alonso rejected a new contract again, according to El Economista. He wants to leave on a free next year.
At the start of the year he wanted to see how his physical fitness was at the start of 2014.
Because of a recent groin operation, he think he's in the final stretch of his career.
Apparently he's dreaming of returning to the EPL.

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
this is hardly surprising. He wanted to run down his contract since last season
I think he will retire in LaReal though personally which is where he started his career

He will go to Liverpool. I really loved those days when he played along with Gerrad. I doubt he wants to go anywhere else.

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
The last thing Liverpool need right now that would disturb them from breaking into that top four is another legend who most likely will not improve them but will be played from start because of his status
He loves both Sociedad and Liverpool though so you never know which club he might choose

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
why would we replace him with somebody completely different who is similar to Khedira??? Doesn't make sense sorry
Its like Thiago replacing Busquets lol........its just not feasible

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
have you watched us vs dortmound few months ago.
We dont need to find the exact replica of alonso, we just need to create good combination.
A combination of gundogan with a dm like illamandi or bender (lars) or jose (in the future hopefully) will do much much much better then alonso-khedira.

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
Gundogan isn't similar to Khedira. Gundogan is a playmaker.

so what you essentially is saying is replace Khedira/Modric with Gundogan, now thats a plausible wish but I regard Modric higher than him. Maybe if Ancelotti in the future wanted a midfield of Gundogan-Illaramendi-Modric it would be good but what guarantee do we have that he actually doesn't do a Sahin???

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
Alonso is still very useful you know. He is just declining a bit and our problem with him is not even an ounce of our problems with Kaka. At least Alonso isn't blocking anyone and will be extremely useful when we need an experienced player to step in. He can tutor the new DM that we will get.

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
Yeah... I like Alonso. I just think he's only suited in a 3-man midfield and not a 2-man one anymore. He doesn't have enough athleticism to get away with it now.

Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
Yea, I think so too. He is nowhere near as bad as some here suggest. It would be same as if Juve would play Pirlo next to a CM. I would definitely keep him as a rotational player at least if we continue with 2-man midfield and an ideal situation would be him as a mentor for Illaramendi like halamadrid2 has suggested.sportsczy wrote:Yeah... Re: El Senior - Xabi Alonso
yess, he can work in juve easily, will be world class there. BUT NOTTTTTT in madrid.
We have fullbacks that are in the final third, we have cb's in the midfeild, we have midfields acting as a striker.
We need energy midfeilders, who can be all over the field, covering all areas, midifelders who dont have weaknesses, who are not slow.
Alonso is defenitly not that. Modric is too weak, and has no game plan, when he receaves the ball, he just dances around while the whole attack is passed.
Thats the difference between ozil and other am's, they dont have control over flow of attack, while ozil is a master of it, even having a bad day, he still governs the attack which makes us more dangerious and controlling.
Modric screws alot of our attacks with his dancing, despite that he is a great player. but i want gundogan. he will be the ozil of midfeild.

Modric can't be the fulcrum of a team like Real Madrid. Not composed on the ball, can't dictate the midfield and is too selfish for a dictating CM.
