Benz, Modric and Casemiro were terrible this game.

Really like Alaba 's ageession and leadership. But Nacho as a LB is just mind-boggling seriously

If Carvajal is gone for a long time then we most likely have to find a replacement next summer. I cannot endure another season of Vazquez

Having Nacho play LB with Alaba playing CB is a very strange decision. If mendy or Miguel play then yes Alaba should be CB

Just imagine if we kept Varane Ramos and an injury free Carvahal we are talking about a potential treble winning squad. Our issues were midfield depth (camavinga fixed that). And our offense besides Benzema to get into form and they have Vini and Rodrygo have been good. Unfortunately not meant to be.

vazquez at right back just doesnt work for me either. and also agree on the move to play alaba at cb and nacho on the left, that was odd, but maybe carlo sees something in training

Vazquez made some errors tonight but let's not get ahead of ourselves, he is a right midfielder/winger after all and under Zizou he was our 4th choice RB after Carvajal, Odriozola and Nacho. He should play as a wide midfielder when we need to defend and help the 'unnatural' in case Carvajal is unavailable.

Lets say tonight the sensible thing to do was introduce Miguel for Carvajal and put Nacho at RB while Miguel at his natural position. Tonight the fullback positions were occupied by players playing out of their natural position, so we lost both in attack and in defense.

Camavinga seems like he has been with us several seasons, and so far I like that impact he has when he comes on in the second half.

Alaba is amazing. That guy is uber passionate, like he'd fire the whole defence up and play as the DLP when we are chasing games

Yeah, Vasquez had a torrid time against Guedes who was doing anything he wanted against him. Poor fella but he gave it his best as he usually does.

I really hope I do not jinx it but Vini has improved his game, don't mind Duro and Foulquier had his number today. Hope he continues to show that he can cut it in Madrid. Camavinga came on and it was like he was tailor made for us, giving this fan lots to hope for.

And finally, Modric and Casemiro had it tough today as well as Valencia really took advantage of the fact both were having difficulties it keeping up with the tempo. Oh and Big Benz with the match winner was lovely.

All in all, great comeback against a side we really do not beat especially at the Mestalla.

They had far more chances. our midfield sucks at the moment to be honest. we can't control the game.

Casemiro on the ball is sh*t nowdays. giving the ball away in our own half left and right.
Vasquez what a nightmare. mistake after mistake. this level of playing has no place in Real Madrid.
Hazard did good imo.

all in all we were lucky Valencia didn't convert they chances. just like Inter. we play like this against a Bayern or City or Chelsea we are going to lose 7-0.

I did find first 80 minutes boring, but I loved the finish. I’m really impressed with Benz, Vinicius Valverde and Campavinga. Also Rodrygo looks good as well. Hazard was ok this time (first time IMO).

Valencia keep dropping like flies and ref fell for it over and over again yet Vinicius was hacked away relentlessly and no calls at all.

And yes agree completely re Lucas. He was the backup last season and was ok for that short time, enough to get a contract renewal and send Odriozola packing. He wasn’t 4th in line as someone previously posted, maybe at start of season but at end he was starter. I agree though we need help, perhaps Nacho! He by the way was at left back as Mendy is not ready yet ( nor Marcelo lol) and he is behind Alaba and Militao in CBs, at least according to Carlo. At this point, Nacho is considered 1st off bench for any of the four positions.

I think the midfield issues disappear once Kroos is available and they they play Campvinga more.

I have the feeling Carlo is slowly creating a winning team.

Wonder how we will play against Mallorca

Our whole XI needs rest. I wouldn't start a single one of them apart from Tibu but that'll never happen.

Camavinga, Rodrygo, Blanco and Miguel need to start. Benz, Vini, Valverde, CASEMIRO, Modric and Militao need the rest.
