De Ligt is actually the 2nd highest paid in Serie A

Re: Preseason 2019/20
Sevilla's is such a cunty team. Teams should stop playing against Spanish teams in pre season.
Gagnon just commited assault and tried to split Larouci's foot in two. Larouci's stretchered off.
Banega also elbowed Wilson in the face and Diego Carlos went in two footed on Ox twice.
Scummiest team I have ever seen and I am witnessing this in a pre season, Unbelievable.

This better be the last time we play Sevilla in a friendly in any kind. #livsev pic.twitter.com/t3NguimN4z

Re: Preseason 2019/20
Van Dijk started by playing way too hard in a pre-season and Sevilla responded in kind. You attacked with a knife, Sevilla attacked with a bomb.
Good match imo, end to end game and of course, I get to see Pool fans start to complain early in the season (minus Nish that is).

Re: Preseason 2019/20
I couldn't care less about the result. Van Dijk and Liverpool literally did nothing. They were absolute scum bags from the very start, got their first yellow card within 10 mins and that was after persistent fouling until the Ref lost his patience, within 10 mins. Stop it Doc.
I hope the Gagnon guy gets charged with assault.

Banega's first tackle on Wilson, that earned him a yellow.

Re: Preseason 2019/20
We were asking Sevilla to calm down much before we conceded lmao
I can't find Diego Carlos's tackle, plus any videos so that y'all don't jump.
Anyways, I have nothing more to say here. Hope we never play Sevilla in a pre season again.

All I saw was Liverpool tried to play hard and Sevilla responded to Liverpool in kind AND continued it. The only incident that was inexcusable was the literal break leg challenge where I hope he gets fined or something. Everything else is part and parcel of a football match.

Re: Preseason 2019/20
Again I am almost confident you saw parts of the game rather full of it.
Van Dijk incident was at the 36th minute and that was the third FK of the game going against Liverpool, the first 2 being handballs, by that time, Banega's tackle was done. Ox, Woodburn and Wilson had already been on the receiving end of heavy two footed studs up challenges and both Banega and Carlos were in the book.
The major issue here is that there constant petulant behavior that has been/was criticized from the starting minutes (Time stamps available on all social media and articles to see) culminated in injuries in a Pre Season game. Thankfully we just leave with this match with 2 injuries rather than more. Hell, my Twatter timeline was filled with both LFC and Non LFC fans asking Liverpool to walk off at half time lmao after the Banega elbow and the Carlos second two footed a few mins before that. (you can also refer my post in the LFC section at HT)
Yes of course everything is a part and parcel of the sport but there is a line after which you stop normalizing it and they crossed it across 90 mins. It might be a Spanish team thing that you guys are used to scummy football XD. We have a decent share in England but La Liga takes the cake when the league winners like Barcelona set such examples for the rest of the league to follow imho
Klopp taking the easy route as well:

Klopp taking the easy route as well:
“I would love that pretty early in the season that you write a story about these games without my headlines. Whatever I say would be the headline.
“The football could be much better. You know in general I don’t like overly hard games.
“I don’t want to say anything about this specific game. No headlines

Fairly certain I watched the entirety of the game on a stream that was being commented by LFCTV lol. The commentators were absolutely livid about Sevilla too. T'was delightful to listen to imo

Re: Preseason 2019/20
I'm not defending Sevilla or anything, but they're a hot blooded team. Once they perceive an injustice, regardless of how correct it is, they'll do their utmost to even the odds. They've had red cards in friendlies before, though not all for dangerous tackles. Gnagnon has achieved a new level with that.
Spanish football, in general, is surprisingly dirty. You don't see many bad tackles going in, but you do see plenty of diving, exaggerating contact, leaving a foot in, flinging an arm back, etc. It's either to even the odds after a bad ref call, or to wind up the opposition so they make mistakes (see: Diego Costa). In Sevilla's case, having followed them closely for six years now, I can tell you they need to be wound up to play at their best. They love a siege mentality. Seville is unique in Spain because in terms of supporters, nearly everyone there supports Sevilla or Betis. It's one of the few places in Spain where Madrid and Barca don't have much presence, and I feel like that creates an us-against-them type of environment.
Not that it's unique to Spain, either. In the Arsenal/Fiorentina game the other night, the Fiorentina players were crowding the ref and complaining on the touchline about the second goal. The fact it's a friendly doesn't ease the frustration with poor refereeing, it seems.

Brexit Premier League being the best in the world doesn't stop just because the leagues are on hold tbh. it's 365 days a year.
