You completely missed the point of my posts though

Has he ever shined ? Not even under lampposts imo

@Buster:
I've acknowledged City's liberal spending without any such consequence as the point is more on how we cannot make victims out of ourselves as fans given we have at least still had the option to spend money only a 5% percentile of clubs can.
Yes we have an obvious disadvantage but I do not see us remaining in this selling club stature for long though then again American owners (who are the best businessmen in the world) are always thinking in purely lucrative terms to which is partially worrying.
And we know what that means.
It's all cool, I'm just disagreeing with some people that every club that can spend 100m> is the same. They're not, some clubs can spend 200m every summer like it's nothing, some 150m, some can only spend that every other summer, some can only spend that if they sell a certain player, etc. Not to even talk about salaries.

This is in the end the advantage of being owned by an Emirati group as doing business once with them I could not even get my head around how utterly spendthrift they were in their cash and without any hesitance.
And it is on display on two of the most financially comfortable clubs in the world in the form of Manchester City and PSG.
Last point is very accurate and highly overlooked.

Laporte has been very good mostly this year, at least in the league.
Also keep in mind it's voted on by the players lol.

Anybody who follows La Liga knows Laporte should not be named amongst the greats. He's basically an oversized Lenglet and a product of the English hype media. Can't wait for Deschamps to bench this fraud for France again.
The fact is he plays in a team with 70% possession every game, surrounded by amazing players, with far less defending to do than the 19 other teams in EPL. I'd rather choose one of Vertonghen or Alderweireld, as they have been more instrumental to their team's success than Laporte has been for City.

Again it has nothing to do with the media lol, it's voted on by the players.

Are you saying the media have no effect on the players' votes?

They might pay attention to them, that's possible but even so.

The media decides everything in the end. Do you think the players watch every match of every single player? No. They look at their Twitter feeds and online sources and "decide" who is the best player.

I'd like to think they'd base it on their own experience in actual games not what people tell them lol.

Lol @ Pogba.
Would make a 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-4 with Hazard in place of Pogba.
Alisson over Ederson too.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
Dany is used to judging players on an extremely small and skewed sample size as he seems to be consistently with any player from Athletic and of course City where Laporte has been far and away Guardiola's most important player from the back and contributing heavily to their build up. Ignorance at its finest.
Deserved inclusion by Ayermic but definitely not Pogba.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
I (used to) watch more La Liga than anyone else on this forum, I have watched Laporte at least 15 times during his time at Athletic. And no, I have no problem with Athletic players For I was once a huge fan of Bart Simpson (and still am, but not as much as before). It is just that Laporte is not a top player. He was a good defender in La Liga, much in the same way as Lenglet is, but nothing special, and he is still just that. Only that he plays in a special team with a special system and special players that make him look good, against teams who don't constantly harass him cause when they did, like against Spurs, he was exposed for Europe to see. Is he better than Otamendi? Absolutely yes. Is he better than Vertonghen? Absolutely not. The fact that World Cup winning coach Didier Dechamps is not even calling him for Les Bleus but does Zouma, Sakho and Adil freaking Rami should say something
Also speaking like Gandalf doesn't make you eloquent when you clearly have an agenda to promote Basque players. You can put a goat in a tuxedo, but it is still a goat.
Good day.

I said it with humour and a pinch of salt tbh. He is an intelligent poster but when he calls me who has followed Laporte for a long time the finest specimen of ignorance then I can call him out.
