Re: Real Madrid v CSKA Moscow

Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has acknowledged that his side played poorly as they lost 3-0 against CSKA Moscow at the Santiago Bernabeu. When asked about the young players, Carvajal stressed that the homegrown players may not be as prepared as once thought.
"Three weeks ago there was talk that the homegrown players could play," the defender told Movistar+."But it turns out that they might not worthy of the first team," he said.
The 26-year-old defended Isco after he received whistles from the stands."I have not seen if he was whistled by the fans or not, but the only thing I can say about Isco is that he has been here for many years and he is a brave player," he added. "When things are not going well, he asks for the ball and tries to change the game rather than disappear."
The Spaniard then went on to discuss how the defeat will certainly have an impact on the team. "This was an inconsequential match for those who want to see it like that. It's an official match, it was not a good match. The first part we had enough opportunities but we had defensive errors and CSKA Moscow condemned us" he said. "We're frustrated by the defeat at home but we finished first in the group and that was the objective." The Real Madrid defender did not want to delve into the role of substitutes. "These are evaluations that the coach has to do, we are all fit to be here but it is difficult for Solari," he concluded.

Even if true, he should shut it and keep these thoughts to himself about the homegrown players.
Unnecessary drama and creating a locker room rift... or maybe there is already one?

Re: Real Madrid v CSKA Moscow
Sounds like a sensationalist mis-translation.
Spanish version:

Carvajal apparently used irony to protect the youth players.
Cmon now.

I don't really want to speculate on locker room rifts, but it seems pretty clear the mentality of the entire team needs an overhaul. It's a bit ironic for him to say that given how bad the "non-homegrown" players have performed this season

Re: Real Madrid v CSKA Moscow
Was there something lost in translation or did he really say that?
Regardless though, what he said (assuming that he really said it) isn't that far from the truth. I would even include 90% of the first-teamers as not worthy or no longer worthy to be playing here.
