Girona is next on the cards

We fell here under ZZ in the season we could've won a treble when he started experimenting with 5 defenders (ugh)

Girona went to Wanda Metropolitana and scored 3 goals. They are far from easy. They have Stuani who is a thorn in big teams back sides and our former Castilla man Borja Garcia who is probably their best player. Basically a less annoying Parejo

The line up Solari stated vs Sevilla is the one I want for this game. Though I'd start Diaz in place of Lucas

Same line up as against Sevilla but Carvajal and Varane rested and Marcelo back in the line up . Both Kroos and Llorente are back. Hope they get a few mins in the 2nd half

Not sure about Odri but I maintain Lucas is poo and this fits my narrative. But he has been pretty decent despite being a poo player.

Good half team looking much better overall as a team, ordi chance to pass to benzema is so obvious and instead for a shot he was never gonna score same with that ceballos last chance, can't wait until he leaves.

Great half, mirrored the 2nd half against Sevilla. Happy about that

A few things:

- With how good Vini is we probably won't need a super duper attacking LB in the future imo (Marcelo)
- Ceballos is so damn good, we literally struck gold with him, he makes both Kroos and Modric look athletic when he plays with them. Modric with another great game. Our midfield is so set for years to come
-Vini ffs, and people think Rodrygo is better, imagine how good he must be if Vini is this good. I prefer his type to Dembele imo. Stronger physically and mentally, better passes and has a good attitude (not saying he's better, just that i prefer his type)
-Benz is missing alooot of chances, but he's taking the shots, the goals will come eventually. I like how he's playing though
- Asensio gtfo if he played today, he'd pass to Marcelo all game. Would love to see Brahim in the 2nd half

We're actually playing very well. Benz has been playing some lovely passes. Casemiro and Ceballos playing excellent and winning lots of 50/50s

We'd do incredibly well with a dembele type player on the right making runs. Benzema really has a great final pass. Isco, for all his technical ability should take notes. It'd be nice if bale could actually still play football but

I hope we don't play MCK together again, they gave us 4 beautiful year but it's time to split it up, one of MK need to sit. I prefer Kroos in my line up. He controls the midfield while standing still, he has 360° eye sight. Modric while still good, can't keep up for entires 90mins and has taken a full 6 months to get into form

I don't think you'll find a defender that will match Ramos. We have to take advantage of the time he's got left at the top because the drop in quality when he retires/leaves will be bigger than Ronaldos

Isco with a neat cameo too. All in all, that 2 goals really would help in the 2nd leg as Stuani would definitely be starting and he is annoyingly good. Speaking of Girona, I am starting to like them. Borja Garcia is a very good player too. He won't stay at Girona for long trust me. Hope he doesnt make the 2nd leg. Also Stuani not playing a single min today hope gets a rest in the 2nd leg too

Good win. everyone was playing intense and with heart and that's very good.
Vinicius being there has completely changed our attack. now we can create many chances. it's like he was the missing piece.

Solari did made mistakes changing the entire midfield though. it nearly cost us. shouldn't do that again.

Best player was Vini. the kid's like a lion lol. tries and tries and tries. hope he becomes a superstar. Modric did great too.

Benzema was very good too but i don't know why exactly he doesn't score more goals. it's a shame because no CF can touch him when it comes to creating, fluent passing and one two's.

the defence still worries me though. conceding goals within 10 minutes has become a habit. we are vulnerable on counters.

And Lucas is still a pain in the ass. works his butt off but loses the ball 3 times out of 5.

Mamad how is benzema gonna score more when players like ordizola are going for goal instead of passing to him? He is not receiving the ball in a timely manner when he supposed to, but when he is surrounded by defenders yeah let's him feed him the ball then story of his career, but as i said before it's his fault cause he not trashing these dudes like cr used to do publicly on the pitch, he wants to be Mr nice guy instead creating for players who aren't willing to do the same for him, hope he leaves summer regardless and go to a team that will respect him only got like 2 seasons left on him hope he doesn't waste it here .

Benzema is a grown adult. Not getting any service, or getting it at the wrong time, is something you have to sort out with your coach and team mates through communication. If he’s not able to do that for whatever reason, then that’s just tough luck. Blaming everyone else, doesn’t solve anything. Benzema’s all-round play and work rate have improved this season, and he’s made use of his talents despite not being a prolific goalscorer. If those talents can be better utilized elsewhere, then I don’t see why he shouldn’t consider a transfer request - provided, he actually feels that a different environment would improve him. He’s the one who holds the power to change things.

Also massive shout outs to Solari quietly coaching like a boss, players clearly respect his decisions, tactics and most all him, they play very hard and confident with him, hopefully Mariano, bale and asensio keep up with this intensity and be able to contribute as things comes together, thata lot of goals to add to the forward line which is missing.
