If you trust Reguilon away in Russia, continue trusting him away at Alaves. Lopetegui is making some puzzling choices

Reguilon was complete crap in Moscow. By resting Ramos, Nacho had to play CB and the only other option at LB was Reguilon. With Ramos back, Nacho can play LB.
100% agree with the decision here. I also like the fact that we're playing Ceballos as an advanced CM in front of two (alleged) strikers.
We may be back to the diamond 442 lol.

Reguillon was not crap. He was great defensively and if there was anyone to aim at in the box his crosses would've been more useful

He was very poor Hala. Better than Marcelo defensively... but that's not a high bar.
He doesn't belong with Real Madrid sadly. But we don't have anyone else so we have to make due.

Meh, I think Casemiro is very good at protecting the ball with his feet when he is alert. But it seems like he loses focus/isn't alert of his surrounding players IMO.

All our weaknesses etc in the past... I don't think Zidane was at blame too. Fullbacks too weak creates problems in the midfield which makes the game look unattractive. But atleast Zidane had the right ideas around it.

Forget Zidane... he's in the past. No point bringing that up anymore.
In terms of now, we need more dynamic forwards AND midfielders who support the attack more aggressively.

Well, Alaves are 6th in the table for a reason so not surprising this match is difficult for Madrid. Not particularly liking we are not using the right flank at all despite Bale and Zola could beat their man.

the so called system just seems all over the place. a 4 3 3 on paper but something else in reality. square peg, round hole.

that's why i'm not opposed to shifting this 4 3 3 system, like its not the be all end all. and if you want to use it, have the right players
