It is not about being a midfield general, it is about providing options and keeping the team compact so that they move together, not rocket science. The front 4 are too broken up from the double pivot.

If it wasn't obvious enough Modric should sub in for Isco, not Asensio, not anybody else. Sub off Isco for Modric for once

biggest dissappointments for me so far is Casemiro, Isco, and Marcelo. all three are not showing what they're capable of. we need to improve in the 2nd half. benz and bale cant score if midfield keeps screwing around.

Lucas Vasquez coming in late and picking up a yellow card reminds me of that report i read about him being unhappy about his place in the team.

Asensio, Benzema, and Bale had a lovely game once the midfield was sorted at halftime. it went even better once Nacho subbed Marcelo and started maintaining balance

I don't like the current movements of the top 4 attackers, especially Isco, match rating is prob a 6 for the whole team, i expected better by now. Girona got tired and also opened up more, logical to concede.

They have been playing for so many years with freedom in attack that it ill take time even if you attempt to make chances, for them to pick up on subtle queues. And from the look of it, Lopetegui isnt trying to force a style on them, it's like a gradual approach to things. His double pivot wasnt working in the first half so he switched Casemiro to Pivot and pushed Kroos forward. things went better.

an alright game, nothing spectacular, we got confident after the second goal, and girona on the other hand lost their boldness. i liked asensio's play in getting the penalties, i'm generally not a big fan of his, but we need him and everyone else more than ever this year. isco, needs to step up, he has only had one good season for us ever. all in all good win, as i expected, but this looks like a long season ahead

wtf is this crap? benz hasn't changed his movements. only difference now is that Benz is being fed for a change. now that he scores, you say this nonsense? good grief.

its posts like this just shows me how one doesn't pay attention to what Benz does on the pitch. Benz shows up in the box. he aint allergic. he just usually gets ignored. thats not on him.

Benzema 2.5/10. Would only watch a highlight once.

Benzema needs to do more. far more. he can play better than what he showed today. he needs to better himself in not getting offside and he needs to show more personality on the pitch. We should have 2-3 goals not 1 by the end of first half and thats on benz. the linkup plays needs to be better. the movements need to be better, there needs to be more communication between him and isco and asensio as isco in particular looked lost in the first half. it shouldnt take bale until 2nd half to score. benz needs to work much harder to get our frontline running smoothly.


Isco did much better in the 2nd half. makes me feel at ease as i was worried he was pulling an ozil on us.

he showed up in the box last year and missed a bunch of sitters, lost confidence and started doing link up away from goal. and you're right, he wasnt great by any means, but i'll take every goal we can get. and he was being fed a lot at home against valencia last year, he was fed at least 3 times in that game...btw your reverse psychology stunt isn't fooling anyone, giving him a 2.5/10 (wonder what your ratings were last season) don't think we don't know what's going on lol.
