What two penalties were those? the Mendy tackle on Mkhitaryan wasn't a penalty btw.

I though overall Arsenal were decent, not too bad could've scored a few, but when all your top players are missing easy chances then not much one can do.

Hard to tell much from Arsenal tbh.
Most of their chances seem to come from very sloppy play from City but it's City so they'll obviously create more against inferior opposition.

Just need that pos Aguero to do something useful to cap off an excellent fantasy week
how many points make an excellent fantasy week, roughly
honest question it's my first seaseon and I have no idea what's good and what's subpar
60+ points usually enough to win you the head to head match up. 70+ usually a guarantee.
As long as you do a decent bit above the average and win your match up, I'd classify that as a good week.

Most won't want to hear it but Mendy's cut back pass was excellent for that 2nd goal.
Most players in his position would either smash it low near the keeper or lift it to far post. He's very good at making the right decision in the final third.

His crossing is his best attribute by far. He usually hits them with lots of pace and driven into the penalty box. That's very hard to defend against.
I said he'd finish with 10+ assists in the prediction thread and he has 2 already lol. He needs to be on everyone's fantasy team tbh.

There was one Mendy foul during a corner which was a clear penalty, I think on Mustafi. Hard to catch that in any game tbf to the refs. Skrtel got away with that shit for years.

Someone is going to have get a clip or something because i don't remember that at all.
Only possible penalty ( and it wasn't) was the challenge from Mendy on Mhkitaryan but can't remember anything else on either side which was even close to representing a penalty.

They were unbelievably sloppy in both games and gave the ball away constantly.
You should watch City more often IMO, preferably every week

It's clearly a coincidence, when i go months without watching them it's always a possible thing to happen.

Hope XHAKA injures his penis during sex and next day when he comes for training he accidentally tackles the post and injures himself. I hope sincerely for the sake of arsenal football club that Emery realises just how bad XHAKA is as a player.

Yeah every team in the premier league would hope for this madness. I'm sure if Wenger was still here your wish might have been fulfilled

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion
What a great 1st week of the PL, so many goals in these games, I really missed the PL.
It really feels weird though seeing a Liverpool team with a good bench. After years and years and years of being average this all feels like a dream tbf. I swear Milner is aging in reverse, like a fine wine.
I liked the look of Arsenal at times today, it's Emery's first game and they didn't look that bad imo, they will do fine this season. I think this will be a really competitive season in the PL, everyone from top 6 managed a win except Arsenal but they played another top 6 team.
I also expect nice thigs from Sarri, but it will take Chelsea some time to adapt to his style, when Sarri came to Napoli the first thing he said is: "Give me some time, I will lose the first 5 fixtures"
Can't wait for next week

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion
I can see Sane on the bench a lot more this season with Sterling and Mahrez playing tbh, just like in the Arsenal game. Sane was able to play today, he didn't go to the WC so he had full energy but he was benched while Sterling who played in the semis was playing.
I don't see how Sane and Mendy would work together tbh.
Sane is a player that 99% of the time will hug the touchline facing the goal, and the only way you can do that is by having a typical Guardiola fullback that goes inside.
Mendy prefers not to go inside but to go wide so Sane and Mendy will be bumping into eachother out wide if they play together.
That could be the reason Sane had such poor efficiency for Germany and why he didn't go to WC, he just doesn't work outside of a Guardiola system.

It's a squad game.
Sterling scored. Sane scored at the Emirates last season.
Sane will probably start the next game.
Was De Bruyne benched?
Mendy's assist last season was to Sane so yes I guess they can play together.
I dont know why Sane didnt go to Russia but that's water under the bridge.
Sane played great at Schalke. Pep has never managed Schalke.

I might be wrong, but we'll see what happens. Mendy just didn't look that comfortable on the ball as an inverted fullback, he looked much better bursting into open space out wide and we know Sane likes that part of the field. De Bruyne stayed at the WC until semis so it was logical he should be rested.
Also, I can see Bernardo Silva slowly replacing David Silva in the starting 11 this season

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion
People said the same about Sane last season and he soon started every game.
Unless Mahrez is amazing week in week out I really don't see him benching him.
Also this whole Mendy likes to stay wide stuff would be a moot point considering he spent loads of time inside today also if Pep really cared about it Mahrez would have played on the left not Sterling.
Also if Bernado Silva is to bench David Silva he'll have to play a lot better than he did today, he barely impacted the game at all until De Bruyne came on.
