He can't play worse... what could he possibly do that you would say Benzema will do better right now. And I freakin think Mayoral is pretty crap too btw.FennecFox7 wrote:I don't even think he was this bad last season. This season he's reaching a new low. I really think mayoral will play much better at the moment

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
How many goals have our midfielders chipped in with this season? Must be double the attackers honestly. Much better from Kroos, the only way is up for the boy. Vallejo has been great. Very composed performance and he's quite good on the ball

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
Seriously, it is genuinely what the club deserved. Morata, a fine striker on his day, they did not rate at all including Zidane. All these crosses and chances would have resulted in at least a goal with Morata. Now, we are stuck with unbelievable awful footballer who really could not give a shit about anything.
Besides that, standard stuff from Madrid. Liking Vallejo, poor fella looks hella nervous but he is doing his best to keep it in check and do the right thing. Isco doing Isco things and Asensio is ghosting through this match...again. Though I wonder if it is just the position Zidane have him playing.

@Doc saw the Chelsea game today. He was really damn good and dangerous with or without the ball. Scored an excellent header. It's night and day with Benz and morata.
@sports you might as well play Ramos there instead. I'm not joking

Absolutely incredible! He always proves me wrong. Every time I think he's finished and that he reached rock bottom, he digs and even deeper hole to reach a new low.
What is that if not talent, seriously?

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
tbf, Morata hadn't scored since September for Chelsea either until today. He's not exactly lighting the world on fire after a strong start. Chelsea have been in all sorts of trouble and they can't score well.
He wasn't the answer either.
We needed to go out and get proper WC players.

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
If I could be bothered I would've created a gif of the Ronaldo offside when he got the ball on the RW. That play really sums up Benz as a player. When Ronaldo got the ball and the linesman raised his flag and the camera showed a shot that shows the other side of the field you could see there was noone in the box (understandable as it was a counter) but our great striker was 5 meters away from the box jogging casually until he realised he didn't need to and just stopped about 3cm from where he started jogging. Even Suarez would bolt into the box as it was quite obvious what Ronaldo was going to do if it wasn't an offside

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
Benzema being the undisputed main CF of Madrid during the era of the most ruthless president in world football will go down as one of the biggest unresolved mysteries of my lifetime.
The guy must have an embarrassing video tape of Florentino. He must, for the sake of logic, mankind and whatever is out there.

He had gone 6 games scoreless. Check out his game log. He was back mid Oct.
Granted, without Kante, Chelsea don't know how to play. This was Kante's first game back in a month too. They looked far more organized.

Typical Zidane tbf. Subbing on a 26 year old scrub when we've already won instead of giving young players the most minutes

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
Well, Vallejo was really good. Whatever nerves he had, he kept it in check and played a solid game. Impressive stuff and I do hope he doesn't let it get to his head. Or get injured.
What else, Ronaldo played well. Wanted him to score but he played well regardless. That being said, a striker who doesn't score has his usefulness questioned and Ronaldo needs to get his goal scoring going. Isco is amazing, Asensio played way better in the 2nd half and Marcelo is fking cancer...yet again.

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
you guys really need to get off benzema's back. did you not listen to his interview? he's a modern cf, modern cf's do everything (including missing chances) but score goals, if you score u're not modern lol. cristiano ronaldo and suarez are now just trying to be modern CFs by not scoring and jumping on the benzema band wagon. benzema has practically redefined his job for us, at this stage, i'm hardly surprised
i guess that's why we brought in mayoral, he too can be a "modern cf" by doing as many one-twos as possible and not scoring....

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
i said i doubt we'd make a january move. i still doubt it, but i really do hope we look into that for something up front, especially now that cristiano is in a "modern cf" period. ramos was alright today, i expected him to get carded. and marcelo should be told to write "i will not be absent minded on defense" as many times as the amount he gets paid in a year.....good grief

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
Nice, easy game. Few players with fire in their bellies. Las Palmas are crap though so I don't know whether our defence has really improved or not. Vallejo fills me with more confidence than Varane butbut it's still early days. Lets see how he progresses
Ronaldo had a nice oveall game, just lacked that goal. I feel like the rain is going to drop anytime now. It's getting closer
Asensio with a much more involvement this game. Always looking for the ball. Man what a belter that goal was
Stupid international break now. Comes at the worst time. Meh

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
How come everybody saying Vallejo is good. He has huge weaknesses. Hr was bouncing off a weak striker like if he was facing lokuku or something. Was running away from striker instead of tackling him. Jeez I hope varane is fit for big games cuz even nacho is better.

And at the end he still won the ball, and made several crucial interceptions
If your opinion of a good defender or footballer is one with physicality, you need to change that view. Because vallejo was clearly one of the best players tonight

Bouncing off the back of a striker, isn't that Varane's speciality?

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
I think you should give Vallejo a little time before making assessments. I believe he has only made three appearances. His first as sub was poor, showing severe signs of nerves. Then he got injured and it was looking like perhaps another round of Illarra. His first start came last week and although it wasn’t great, but not poor either, mostly inexperience showing. There was the red card, somewhat questionable, but foolish nontheless. In yesterday’s game he was very good, the raters gave him a 9, highest on team. But as Hala said, it’s too soon to make a judgement. Kid needs game time and confidence. After that you can make your assessments.

Re: Real Madrid vs Las Palmas
Varane is one of the best CBs in the world... but since he kicked a few peoples' lovechild off the team, those same people have an agenda against him. It's typical so I don't blame them. Only problem Varane has is injuries. He can't stay healthy for more than 2 months at a time. It's not a surprise that our defense has gone down the toilet since he's been out.... he's by far our best defender.
The biggest impact is his speed. He covers an enormous amount of ground very quickly and no player can beat him for pace. Allows for a lot of things that a manager would otherwise not dare (like Ramos attacking). Ramos is still attacking but with no Varane and that is being exposed.
