Re: Real Madrid vs Espanyol
Isco really is a joy to watch honestly. I really hope we don't be cheap when it comes to paying him his just salary. The man is on the path to becoming as influential as Iniesta is to Barcelona. All in all, decent win. Was not expecting anything grand after our really good win against Dortmund so I can't say I'm surprised how the match played out.
Also, Varane is really getting back to the form that made people hype him to the heavens aka us. Another fine centre back display from him.

Are you acting like Ramos hasn't always been a horrid defender?

He has already renewed doc
Anyone notice how nonchalant Kroos was with his passing today. Like he couldn't be bothered

There was a flurry of contract renewals within the space of a few days. Very hard to miss though as the kommander I should probably have mentioned it.....Doc wrote:halamadrid2 wrote:He has already renewed doc

I’m gonna need some proof of that. And Chad is not valid.

No one besides Chad wanted him gone. Isco has probably been one of the most popular players in this Madrid side since Zidane took over.

Re: Real Madrid vs Espanyol
Well not exactly. There were some saying Isco should leave as he wasn't getting a lot of playing time playing behind midfield of Modric, Kroos and Casemiro with BBC always the front three.
But it wasn't a criticism of Isco rather of Zidane's insistence, at that time of 4-3-3 and BBC.
But since then, at least half way thru last season, Isco has really stepped up his game. forcing Zidane to alter formation. And other than Chad, I don't believe there has been any negative comments about Isco, only that he is a joy to watch. Interesting he has shown the same progress in his game with Spanish NT in the same time-frame and he has stated he wasn't considered a starter because he wasn't playing well enough. That sounds like an astute self evaluation.

Re: Real Madrid vs Espanyol
You gotta be flexible to change your opinions... which some here aren't. For example, I LOVED Benzema... now I think he's mediocre. Isco was also frustrating to me early one... but he's taken on the challenge and has become a joy to watch.
Heck, I even appreciate Ramos... although it has nothing to do with his defending lol.
Ronaldo has won me over mostly too (and that is a miracle in itself).
We REALLY REALLY need one of Asensio, Bale or Benzema to step up in a big was as a decent scorer. That's the key to our season... other than staying healthy.

Re: Real Madrid vs Espanyol
Agreed. Opinions can change. A few months ago I thougt Varane was no better than Titus Stones Bramble but he's slowly winning me over now
ZZ: Isco Disco plays like you'd do on the street
Chad: but but but he's a dribbling merchant, never scores or assists

Re: Real Madrid vs Espanyol
I was always bias towards Isco, since he was Malaga. When Nick, Josh and somewhat Sports were talking about it would be better if Isco went City (at the time and technically, he would have been more productive earlier on at City), I was on that Isco bandwagon to come Madrid. Lovely footballer and I'm glad he actually just put his head down and just worked to get better. Many a footballer (the likes of Cassano, Ballo, etc.) would have just continue as if they are doing nothing wrong. Really glad it is working out for him.
That being said, I had to make a face turn for the likes of Pepe, Benzema, Ramos and Nacho. Turns out, they are actually good footballers and/or likeable asshats.

He's tragicomedic relief. If that's a thing.

Re: Real Madrid vs Espanyol
I honestly did not like Ramos. At all. He was such a calamity and incapable of learning from his mistakes. Turns out, he is still kinda the same way but way more likable. Also, he would always have ridiculous amounts of leeway for that goal. That fairy tale equaliser.

Re: Real Madrid vs Espanyol
isco has surprised me, until last season, i hardly cared for him. liked him at malaga, didn't think he'd cut it at madrid, cos his freedom would be restricted. and he used to do a lot of stupid things on the ball, and then lose it. but since last season, and even later in the undecima year, its like he gets it, i hope he doesn't get too comfortable and relax. his end-product has been very good of late
