Tbh, Benz does his best work now wide left where he takes on either the fullback or the CB facing goal while running.  He's just no quick enough with his feet anymore in the box. He actually is a good dribbler in these situations.

We have players with half the experience and half the talent making better chances for themselves and taking those chances. I know it's hard to believe, but RM the team doesn't exist to spite Benzema. If Benzema plays well the results will come. So far this season he's been crap and it shows.

this is not rocket science, a guy like Benzema who has always talked about how the most important part on his game is linking up, is scoring less and less overtime. The man has talked himself up to the point where he doesn't obsess about scoring, and everybody around him is saying that it's ok. He doesn't need to score, CR does it for everyone, so it's ok.

Unsurprisingly, he scores less and less, he lost the hunger for it, and when we need goals without CR he can't deliver.
