It happens. Two games and you're reacting like a child already. Two *bleep* games. Everyone knows your defense is shit so obviously you'll lose some points because of that lmao. Liverpool still have more than 2 points per game and can improve the defense in less than a month.
He had one transfer window.
But I mean you don't even know how long he's been your manager. Your own *bleep* manager. This is really just a waste of time.

yup, can't wait for them to raid some mid table Bundesliga club for their third choice CB to fix up their D
they kept a clean sheet against one of the best teams in the league today, meanwhile the best defender in the league conceded two against West Ham. You wish you had our second choice CB's.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 7
he had a winter and a summer transfer window mate. But that's not the point. The point is he has had more than enough time on the training pitch to sort it out. I mean Chelsea were losing games and giving goals away and conte went back on the training pitch and within 2 games sorted it out now Chelsea give nothing away at the back. The team now is a copy of the Rodgers team. The season we came 2nd we beat Arsenal 6-1 and city 5-1 but blew a 3-0 lead v palace and got beat by West Brom 3-0. This season we won away at Chelsea and Arsenal and drew away to Spurs. Yet got raped by Burnley. Then Bournemouth and now this shit v West Ham. Rodgers team scored goals for fun but defended like a champion ship team. This team scores for fun but defends like a champion ship team. Rodgers team gave away commanding leads against scrub teams. This team gives away commanding leads against scrub teams. Rodgers team was very inconsistent this team is the same. Klopp and the team are both frauds. Just when you think they are on the up and going places they just go back to being a scrub team that's can't take the pressure from relegation fodder. Klopp might win the odd cup with Liverpool but no way on earth will he win a title.zigra wrote:Unique wrote:klopp has not fixed the defence in the 18 months he has been there so what makes you think he will do it by next month.zigra wrote:

I was just about to say what Jay said belowUnique wrote:I've seen pulis take a bunch of scrubs and destroy the big clubs and big name managers plenty of times. Who's to say pulis wouldn't do well with a world class squad.Jay29 wrote:Unique wrote:
but if they don't get a chance how will you know if there good enough. Every other country in Europe try to give home grown coaches as much of a chance as possible. The same way they try to promote as many home grown players as possible in England we just import them.
No they don't. European clubs have more home grown managers because they have a better selection to choose from. Otherwise if there's no suitable candidate top clubs won't hesitate to go foreign.
Imagine a top club in England looking at a spread of Allerdyce, Bruce, Pardew, Dyche, Howe, Pulis, Moyes and Hughes. Home grown isn't going to come into the equation - the fact that the majority of them are proven, average managers will.

Two names: David Moyes and Roy Hodgson. Rated for their supposed over-achievement with smaller clubs, but completely flopped in a big club environment.
Moyes and Hodgson are lessons to the other clubs. Man United aren't gonna be looking at any English manager for a long, long time. Unless one of them does something spectacular like a Europa League win and/or a deep CL run with an average team.
Liverpool tried to do what you're saying and hired Rodgers right after Hodgson and he almost fooled everyone into thinking he was a great manager.
Bottom line, top clubs don't have the time or patience to experiment their season on an average British manager and they shouldn't. When one of them proves himself (like the foreign managers that get the job tend to do), they'll get hired.
I guarantee you Arsenal's next manager isn't going to be British.

Well of course Pulis doesn't deserve a Liverpool/Arsenal/Barca job, but a better club than WBA? His move from Crystal Palace to WBA seemed a sidegrade if not downgrade. Both clubs were on the brink of relegation when he took charge and he stabilized them. He was always as good as you humanly could with the teams he was managing. He brought Stoke in Europe for *bleep*'s sake.

What's going on here, Not worried at all.
Never expected to win the title and we'll comfortably finish top 4. As you were.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 7
Pulis got Stoke into Europe just by being in a cup final against a team that occupied a CL spot. Otherwise he never managed to finish higher than 11th with Stoke. Fair enough, a cup final is a good achievement, but there was a reason Stoke got rid of him.
West Brom is his level. It's where he'll do his best work as a coach, because he can get away with playing four centre backs in a backline and relying entirely on set-pieces for goals and usually it'll be enough to keep a team up. But for mid-table clubs looking to push up the table into the EL spots that's not good enough.
Earlier in the season WBA fans wanted him gone precisely because they felt his lack of progressive tactics were holding the team back. And that for all their defensive solidity, they played garbage football.

RealGunner wrote:Quite a decent match between Liverpool and West ham. Liverpool created quite few chances but they lacked the finishing. Wijnaldum alone should have scored 2.
Firmino has gone back to his early liverpool days. Looks really confused and clueless. Maybe it's a language thing and Coutinho communicates better? I don't know. But most of the attack stops when the ball comes to him.
Mane was amazing.
For west ham, it must be awful to play with 10 men every match. Payet is literally just there so he can pounce on those freekicks
West Ham got lucky, Both fluky goals and im not even rustled, This is Liverpool DNA.
Firmino is struggling out on the left because he lacks pace. He is either a False 9 or a CAM. Origi is scoring left right center so Klopp can't drop him.
Its another one of those matches, Which is fair, We finished like 13th last year, All of this is huge for us to be compared to teams like Arsenal etc.
We do miss Coutinho though, But even without him we'll finish like 10 points ahead of The Red Dabbers.

Coutinho is not the problem. In the 2 games he has been missing we scored 5 goals and were in complete control of both games but again we defend like a pub team and give the game away.

Just made the point lol.
But anyway he's an ex footballer who is now a pundit and has an over-inflated opinion of himself.
Like most English pundits really.

A long time ago in Bethlehem, Stan was a real prospect in British football when he broke out on the scene at Palace (I think). Pace, power, skill and an eye for goal, he really looked like he was going places.
However injuries and a really unstable mentality led Stan to not having the career his talent suggested. I think he suffered with bouts of depression as well.
Also, what Mole wrote.

Rodgers is doing a pretty good job right now, and even if you say that Rodgers had Suarez the season we got to 2nd place how is that any different than any of the other top teams in the PL having a top player (or more) like Hazard, Costa, Ozil, Sanchez, Aguero, Silva, De Bruyne, Toure, etc. Realistically people have overrated the whole of Liverpool's squad for a while and Rodgers did well with what he had tbh.
Wouldn't be surprised if Rodgers were top of the PL with a squad that a team like Chelsea or City have.

Amazing performance by Ashley Williams so far
Two foots his own team mate Gueye who picked up a knock and just minuets after, flicks the ball in his own net after Sanchez's freekick
1-0 Arsenal
