Re: El Clasico 16/17 Thread
This has Barca bounce back written all over it. RM are in good form but a few key losses namely Bale and Kroos will be too many changes for ZZ to manage.
Casemiro would be a great addition, but he has zero match fitness- we haven't seen him play a single minute in months. Coming back and starting (as ZZ implies in his interviews) v Barca is too soon.

Re: El Clasico 16/17 Thread
I really doubt if Casemiro will start, I can see him as a sub (for Isco) if Madrid takes an early lead.
Similarly, I doubt Iniesta starts for much of the same reason.
Today's copa games will give them both a chance to see how their match fitness is.

Re: El Clasico 16/17 Thread
With way Isco and Casemiro are playing today, I would like to see 4 in midfield (Isco, Kova, Modric and Casemiro) leaving Lucas as a sub. IMO that lineup gives Madrid control of midfield, but I think Zidane will stick to the 4-3-3 which means either Isco or Casemiro will start on bench!
As for James starting LOL. Have you watched him lately? He not only is behind Lucas, Asensio, Isco, after today's invisible performance he is also behind Odegaard!

The referee himself is despised by a big portion of the Madrid fanbase because he made many controversial decisions against Madrid in the past.
I don't agree with them, though. I think mistakes are part of the game and referees make them all the time. It doesn't mean they're intentionally favoring someone over someone else. All we can do, as fans, is hope not to be on the receiving end of those mistakes when they happen.
And even if this referee had pro-Barcelona leanings, I don't think he would be dumb enough to intentionally favor Barcelona now where the suspicions are at their highest.
I hope you realise you are far too sensible
It's almost like referees are humans and make mistakes ( ones that are bad at their job more so)
Maybe I didn't articulate my thought well enough, I apologize. I only meant that we shouldn't blame the referees or accuse them of anything as long as we don't have proof. That, and also refereeing mistakes happen in football all the time. Sometimes they can even give the victory to the undeserving side, but that doesn't mean that the referee is corrupt.

Zidane: "We have studied barca, they have no weakness". More vague statement than, Hawking claiming "I have studied physics, there is no gravity". Stahp dem poor jinx attempts, beloved Zizou.

Spain may have an outspoken Real fan as president of the league association, who doesn't disguise his preference.
In Germany, the equivalent official, the DFL president, is in fact Rauball, the president of BVB, himself.
That's as if Uncle Flo himself was LFP president
Same in Italy, Galliani is the vice president of lega serie a. You also have Lotito (Lazio's president) in the FIGC.

Vazquez ffs. Glad Isco is starting.
Very much a narrow 4-4-2. Good formation. Midfield needs to performs.

Barcelona XI Ter Stegen, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Suarez, Messi, Neymar, Mascherano, Alba, Roberto, Gomes
No Iniesta. Madrid need to finish the job before he comes on.

Think that's why Gomes is starting so he can cover him up.
