LaQuan McDonald shooting in Chicago
A video is about to be, or has been, released of an incident 13(!) months ago where a Chicago officer shot a kid 16 times, twice in the back and then the rest when he was on the ground.
videos here
http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/24/us/laquan-mcdonald-chicago-shooting-video/index.html
Afterward police went to a Burger King which had security footage and deleted 86 minutes of video. Dash cam still caught the shooting. Officer Jason Van Dyke charged with first degree murder.
This is going to be ugly.
edit: just watched it and it's bad, he wasn't even walking towards the officers and nor was he moving after he got shot originally. The only time you see his body move is from bullets entering. Very messed up. Also looked to me like the officer in the dash cam purposely angled his car as not to catch his fellow cop on camera.

Just another day in the U S A
Cop would've gotten away with it too (still might, tbf). All the other Cops on the scene - the "good" cops, I'm sure - were willing to cover for him (shocker), no one knew about the videos, and the local media bought the same lie the Cops always tell without hesitation (shocker again) because they're lapdogs for the police...but then one single whistleblower comes forward and the whole house of cards collapses.
DoJ needs to stop sitting on their *bleep* hands and crush this. Charges for just the trigger puller should not suffice. We have Murder 1 by Cop, obstruction of justice, evidence tampering, intimidation of witnesses, and conspiracy by a GROUP of Officers in the 3rd largest city in America. Charges need to come raining down. Between the black site and this incident, serious consideration should be given to disbanding the Chicago PD and rebuilding from scratch.

IMHO there needs to be a crackdown on the Blue Wall, solidarity between colleagues is all nice and good, but the cops are overdoing it, and it's the same in almost all countries. The pack mentality makes them almost immune to persecution.

Yeah, there's also the district attorney who had the video in 2014 and decided to hold off on charging the guy. It was only after a journalist sued to get it released did they decide to do anything.

From 2011 where they had to reward the guy $350,000, and another from just 1+ year ago. 13 other complaints as well, never disciplined.
Still wouldn't shock me if he got off sadly. Though I hope they downgrade it to 2nd degree because premeditation probably can't be proven, he was on scene six seconds.
