Predict Euro 16 squads
This should be a fun thread. Predict the squads for the nations qualified for Euro 12. There will be a bump in six months to see how accurate we were. Assume that all players are fit. I'll start it of with Italy.
Goalkeepers: Buffon, Sirigu, Perin
Defenders: Darmian, De Silvestri/Abate, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Romagnoli, Antonelli, De Sciglio/Criscito
Midfielders: Veratti, Parolo, Motta, De Rossi, Florenzi, Candreva, Montolivo, Marchisio, Bonaventura/Bertolacci
Forwards: Pelle, Berardi/Zaza, Insigne, El Shaarawy

Re: Predict Euro 16 squads
Very hard task. Especially so when you consider that if someone is injured it could change the fate of another player who isnt injured.
Anyway, I will try Spain.
De Gea, Iker, Rico
Alba, Azplicueta, Carvajal, Pique, Ramos, Bartra, San Jose, Gaspar (could easily be De Marcos, Juanfran, Nacho, Bellerin.. or even Sergi Roberto and even Vidal eventually)
Busquets, Iniesta, Cesc, Silva, Mata, Santi, Koke, Thiago, Isco
Pedro, Nolito, Morata, Diego Costa (hasnt been dropped by now, so why later)
I tihnk though there is a pretty big chance one of the midfielders miss out and Paco is in. I am sure one of Thiago, Isco, Mata or Santi will be injured or something by that time.

Lack of pace in that Spain team.

Re: Predict Euro 16 squads
Wouldnt be Spain otherwise really. Only remotely fast players are fullbacks. Not the squad I would go with but you know VDB
They looked better than I imagined they would vs England though I have to admit.

Re: Predict Euro 16 squads
Hard to do England's right now because of injuries, but here's my guess:
Keepers: Joe Hart, Jack Butland, Random Scrub
Defenders: Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, John Stones, Nathaniel Clyne, Ryan Bertrand, Kieran Gibbs (could be Baines or even Shaw, depending on fitness)
Midfielders: Jack Wheelchair, Fabian "Snake" Delph, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Ross Barkley, Adam Lallana, Alex Ox-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling
Forwards: Wayne Rooney, Big Red Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Danny Wele-on-Crutches/The Spirit of Daniel Sturridge/Theo Walcott
Keepers: Joe Hart, Jack Butland, Random Scrub
Defenders: Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, John Stones, Nathaniel Clyne, Ryan Bertrand, Kieran Gibbs (could be Baines or even Shaw, depending on fitness)

Yeah could be. But I see they are back to high pressing. But I mean, its easier to effectively press an opponent when they dont have players even remotely capable of finding a solution out of the pressure.
Still, they did it well.
Cant imagine them winning anything with Costa being a constant handicap though.

Re: Predict Euro 16 squads
That squad looks awful on paper. Really hoping Barkley keeps up his good form and takes it to Euros. Can't rely on Wilshere to be fit then. Oxlade will pick up a 3 months injury a day before.
Basically every crucial player in that squad is injury prone bar Sterling.
Delph going to Euros Danny Rose will sneak in as well somehow

Re: Predict Euro 16 squads
We could probably put together a decent attack with our wingers and forwards, but everything is going to be let down by a shocking lack of talent in midfield that can't keep the ball well and can't defend well either.

I'm not an expert but that doesn't seem good

I had Jorginho as well until I saw that I had a 24 man squad.
I hope Berardi gets there ahead of Eder.

Berardi hasn't been playing that good lately plus he's been getting call ups for the U-21.
Insigne, Jorginho, Eder and Bonaventura are having the season of their lives
Gabbi, Astori and Criscito will make it (i have a feeling)

Re: Predict Euro 16 squads
For the German squad it is not even clear whom we can nominate as keepers additional to Manuel Neuer - there we'd have Kevin Trapp, Bernd Leno, Marc-André ter Stegen, Ron-Robert Zieler and Ralf Fährmann as options, each of them having a valid claim, so I am at a bit of a loss at how to even start. XD

Meh. There are other NTs that can take care of Italy before we'd have to run into them ^^

Re: Predict Euro 16 squads
For Italy
GK: Buffon, Sirigu, Perin
DF: Darmian, Antonelli, Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini, Romagnoli/Acerbi, De Sciglio
MF: Marchisio, Verratti, De Rossi, Florenzi, Candreva, Bonaventura, Parolo, Soriano
FW: Eder, Insigne, Pelle, El Shaarawy, Immobile
I think we all agree on the GKs and most of the defense, but Florenzi will be called as a midfielder. I think Astori/Romagnoli/Acerbi will be close.
Jorginho proably isn't getting called up, he is more than good enough but his position is covered by Marchisio, Verratti or De Rossi. And if he goes then Montolivo is def not going, too much of the same. Soriano is absolutely getting called up. Parolo will probably go as well since we need his style.
Pelle, Eder and Insigne are locked in. Vazquez hasn't fit in Conte's plans so far and I dont think that will change. Another CF is needed, there's a few but I think Immobile might get it if he keeps up the form. Zaza has to play more. Balo and Rossi are not going. Maybe Pavoletti. El Shaarawy or Berardi will go, I think it'll be El Sha if he kills it with Roma.
Im missing a spot going to a left back or a midfielder.

Eric Dier in for Jones and Dele Alli in for somebody. Forster as third choice keeper. I won't be surprised if Jonjo Shelvey and Jesse Lingard sneack in there as well.

France
Keepers: Lloris, Mandanda, Areola or Ruffier
Defenders: Varane, Koscielny, Evra, Digne, Sagna, Debuchy, Zouma, Sakho (Laporte may get a shout here though since the backups are poor right now)
Midfielders: Pogba, Matuidi, Lass, Cabaye, Schneiderlin, Sissoko (Rabiot has a chance)
