Zidane future madrid coach
When Carlo gets the boot this summer, Zidane is going to take over.
Even if Carlo ends up winning a trophy, i wouldnt be surprised that he leaves by himself or if we play such hardball with the renewal that he understands he isnt wanted, and ends up leaving.
Great coach, but his failings vs top tier teams in la liga is a bit much.
Zidane's been finishing his training, travelling around to see pep or bielsa, while coaching castilla at the same time. He said this weekend that if he gets the chance he will do it.

Well what could possibly go wrong.
Ancelotti's got nothing on Zidane as a coach, after all the latter finished his training, travelled around to see pep and bielse while coaching castilla at the same time.

Re: Zidane future madrid coach
the boot only after his second season? yeah he's made some mistakes but it doesn't warrant giving him the boot, especially considering zidane is the one people want to succeed him. i have no problems with zidane, but much of this seems (imo) to stem from barcelona's success with pep, and roughly atleti's with simeone....there seems to be this "we want our own" with zizou. but i reckon we might be rushing it. its best to always look at the worse case scenarios; what happens if he takes over and does poorly, then who replaces him? carlo should NOT be fired, let's see what he does this season and next, and in the process giving zidane time to learn more about the job and himself, let him learn more, very great players don't always make the best coaches (few exceptions, cruyff for example), so its necessary he understand the nuances of the game and different tactical scenarios with different types of players from a manager standpoint. changing coaches everyday is counter-productive

yeah, he shouldnt be hired, just like we should have never signed bale. but perez does what he wants, and what he wants is Zidane coaching madrid.

Pérez has a severe case of Pep envy, who would let Ancelotti walk away?

Barca destroying Mehdrid with DAT homegrown Cruyffian philosophy on and off the pitch. First making them copy possession football with technical midget midfielders so we could beat them with counterattacks, set pieces and long balls. Then getting Carlo sacked so they can try and replicate Pep 2.0. Soon we'll hear statements from Ronaldo how Bale deceived him with DAT pace and power but lack of technical ability. Mes que un hala.

Nick didn't Flo change the bylawas to something ridiculous. Literally impossible for anyone or very difficult for someone to become Madrid president. The guy is worse than Blatter.

he did change the bylaws, but again, socios voted and agreed with the change he wanted to make. there are still people who can be president, but flo has too much power and influence i doubt it even matters. he is not contested by the socios, he is loved.

Re: Zidane future madrid coach
nothing wrong with florentino changing the bylaws, it just prevents any clown from being president (have to be a socio for at least 25 years and personal statement of over 70 million euros). and just to be clear, i'm not opposing zidane being made as coach, i just think it is a rush (and very pep motivated, which i kind of don't like).....and i don't see why we should be tiki-taka-ing at madrid, we can build our own ideals, following others is not the madrid way, we set the trends, not follow fads

so that clowns like calderon who promised kaka, fabregas, robben, and david villa..and end up bringing drenthe, gago, saviola, heinze don't come in. also so that the president isn't one to get fooled by an impersonator claiming to be nicolas cage and ends up watching a whole champs league match at the president's box; so that the pres isn't one to lecture a group of harvard grads and use that as a medium to blast the players on the team (no matter how true his statement may be) in the middle of the season. so that the president is one who is experienced enough to handle transfers with finesse and tact, and not declare he wants to sign one of the world's best players and end up calling that player's coach senile.....
florentino's faults stem mainly with respect to signing players, (whether or not they're needed) and wanting to be the second coming of santiago bernabeau, outside of that, you can never call him or his actions (excluding signings and coaches) foolish. I can't say the same for some other president's we've had

In today's footy, the manager's job is mostly about man management and motivation. The technical aspects are mostly handled by the assistants.
So to me, who surrounds Zidane is more telling...

Re: Zidane future madrid coach
IIRC the bylaw change only stated that someone with a personal fortune of over X amount could apply to be president, which is fitting for a club like Madrid. It doesn't prevent anyone else from running, only that they have to be very rich to do it.
So while I'm sure there are a lot of fans that get excluded from this, others like Zealous could run.

As a neutral it would be great to see Zidane manage Real Madrid (because I think he'd flop and it'd be entertaining).

For every Pep there's a Pippo, if I were a Real Madrid fan I'd be very worried about Perez being stupid enough to do this.
People have to realize Pep was a freak, very few people are able to manage such a massive club as their first major job.

agreed, i'm just as worried about the people having the expectations that xavi will be the next pep..
people get easily excited.
problem with zidane getting appointed is not only will he be compared to pep's three years incharge (14 trophies)
but also carlo's decima in his first year.
if zidane doesn't produce instant success, which is extremely difficult on your first job as manager.. then he gets sacked..

but why take such a chance lol
they just won the champions league and have a decent chance of winning it again.
it's not like carlo has done that bad.
