Date: Tuesday, September 30th 2014
Stadium: Parc des Princes
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Referee: Nicola Rizzoli (Italian) - The ref from the 2014 World Cup final if I remember correctly.
our previous games ended in draws but we ended up advancing in away goals
We are currently first in the group after PSG and Ajax drew their games, this match will probably be the hardest of the rest, especially away from home.
Our full squad consists of : Ter Stegen, C. Bravo, Pique, Rakitic, Sergio, Xavi, Pedro, A. Iniesta, Messi, Neymar, Mascherano, Bartra,Douglas, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, Adriano, Dani Alves, Mathieu, Sandro, Munir and Montoya.
interesting seems douglas got picked over montoya... rafinha and massip still recovering from injuries.
my predicted lineup :
----------MaTS
Alves--Pique--Mathieu--Alba
----------Buscuit
-----Rakitic----Iniesta
---Pedro--Messi--Neymar

They aren't in good form but they are still super dangerous and will step it up against us.
Let's keep the clean sheets going

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
Against Ibra and Cavani it must be Pique and Mathieu for sure. Rest of the team picks itself. Question marks only over MAtS vs. Bravo.

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
We to concede our first goal in this season...MAtS to make a small blunder and thus giving his CL spot to bravo as an early Christmas gift ....
on a serious note, why pedro to start, i thought its Sandro's turn this time , no??

MATS is much better than Bravo. If anything you should be praying he has a goat performance so he can start in La Liga as well

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
As long as we don't concede before juve *coffee* why do i feel like juve are trying to out-do us defensively this early season? (buffone even had to make the penalty save of his life to keep a clean sheet the last game) That being said, mats to go on a concede 2 goals in a 4-2 win including a gaffe, while scrubvo goes on another 5 match clean sheet spree, thus winning the no1 spot for the rest of the season..*coffee*

nah...defense has improved... he needs to wait till Classico to get a goat performance opportunity ..... Bravo has 6 clean sheets....but how many goal scoring chances he actually saved...

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
Going to be an easy game for you guys... Ibra, Silva and Lavezzi are all confirmed out and Luiz is playing injured. Cavani has zero form too atm.
PSG hasn't settled into the new season yet... tied for 4th in Ligue 1 with only 3 wins in 8 games. Very slow and ineffective right now. Nothing like last season.

Out of form teams usually use Barcelona as a stepping stone to put up a decent or great performance, so anything can happen.

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
Yeah, Milan is the best example, always raised their games against Barca despite being in chit form in recent times. It's the CL, they are playing at home and PSG still have good players, Zlatan or no Zlatan. Blanc still their coach? Then they'll also park the bus.

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
The truth is hamonica has a point and i'm a bit skeptical bout the general bad form of psg as they'll probably play their hearts out to prove a point as regards their bad form and to show europe that they aren't a one man team..on the other hand,i'd have prefered it if ibra played as i know they'll all want to give him the ball thus, slowing them down cause of his fitness which would have being to our advantage. That being said, barca will labour to a hard fought 2-0 win against a parked train..goals to be scored by two defenders.

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
That's the problem... Blanc never parks the bus. PSG don't have the players to execute PTB. The 3 times i've seen him try (Barca, Chelsea leg 2 and Spain NT), it was a complete disaster.
His entire philosophy is predicated on having the ball more than the other team...

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
if Alves is healthy he should start ahead of Montoya any day of the week.
It's scary to think Alves is leaving at the end of the season and Montoya and Douglas will become our regular right backs for at least one full season O_O

Sirigu (PSG): "Barça changed a lot, but they're again becoming the great team they were when we last met. We're more experienced now though."
Maxwell (PSG): "We have to be intense and aggressive. We will play our game. We should think about winning. They will concede one day."
Pastore (PSG): "We won't sit back like we did before. We also want the ball so it'll be a hard-fought game. Midfield battle will be fierce."

If they attack us they'll get ripped to shreds. I think they'll sit back especially since they need some kind of result.

Cavani hasn't looked scary up front since he left Napoli...either with PSG or Uruguay.
If they want the ball, they can try and take it all they want.

That's a pretty strong team even without Ibra and Silva.

Terrible move, awful planning.
I dont care one bit that Douglas is unproven or whatever, but he better be a good player or we are screwed.

Yeah it is which is why I don't understand why people think we'll just go out and trash that. PSG last lost a European game at home in 2006 or something.

Re: Paris Saint-Germain vs F.C Barcelona
We will see if we still bowing to Lucho if Mascherano does one of his big game f-up's.
Lucas and Alba is a intresting little battle.
PSG want the ball? Will be a good and first test to see how our team handles high pressure and what kind of positional play we offer to counter it.
