No Australia is Asia's best representative. Just imagine what could have happened if they were in Japan's, Korea's or even Iran's group!
meh they are a different continent only playing in Asia so that they stop massacring the small islands.

that whole region reached the quarter finals just once in 28 years ... and that game pitted two concacaf teams against each other...
meanwhile africa had 3 quarfer final appearances by 3 different teams during that period , and managed to beat two defending world champions ( senegal vs france, cameroun vs argentina )
not to mention 5 different teams past the first round since 1986.
Spot on comments. Very well said.
BTW is that individual in your avatar and signature Domench? If yes then why do you choose to highlight him now?
i lost a bet to some heartless german guy.
No wonder. That guy must be really heartless to ask you to put Domenech there. Even a donkey in his place would be better.

on the contrary Asian Teams ... ppl often not even knows players of these NTs
Yes that's true.
Samuel Eto'o
Didier Drogba
Michael Essien
Yaya Toure
Who from Asia comes even close to those profiles?

Yes, very true I knew about Uchida, and that Kagawa used to be at dortmund, but after looking at the rosters of more sides there are more Japanese players in the BL than I thought. Hopefully thats a trend that will continue across more leagues around the world

Whatever but since they are part of the Asian confederation now I suppose we should discuss them among Asian teams. It's like we have to call Diego Costa a Spaniard now.
Re: Asian teams
india should dump that silly cricket game and replace it with football.

I don't like cricket much or rather I used to but I don't any more. However every country has it's preferences and if that's what moves our people most so be it. Besides we will struggle to reach the level we have reached in cricket in almost any other sport.
Re: Asian teams
i was sceptical of this Aussie side from what I saw before the WC, but dam, glad they proved me wrong. We've got a good young group coming through, hopefully they keep improving.
