Re: World Cup: Group C discussion
I wonder if Pekerman is going to re use the same starting 11 against Ivory Coast.
My only changes would be to maybe include Arias as our starting RB and bring on Bacca or Ramos over Jackson and see what happens. I don't see Zuniga having a solid game against Ivory Coast, it was noted in several games during our qualifying that his defending is quite poor when up against quick attackers.

Re: World Cup: Group C discussion
Just read that Bacca had to leave the team training after scoring a goal in training. Discomfort in his quadriceps fckkkkkkkkk.
Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Re: World Cup: Group C discussion
I'm maintaining my original prediction of Colombia and Japan;
7 Colombia
4 Japan
3 Ivory Coast
3 Greece
I think Greece will beat Ivory Coast. Japan to draw with Colombia (they wont have anything to play for in fixture 3). Although the Ivory Coast obviously have some great players I just think they will struggle against the more physically capable sides. They're too disorganised.
Everyone is head over heels for Drogba right now but the reality is that says more about Japan than it does Drogba. He just did what he does best which is win FK's from long balls as if the 5'8 japanese defender he was just backing into suddenly developed super human strength. He won't be nearly as effective against Colombia or Greece. Hold me to it.

Ivory Coast are awful at attacking and Colombia are awful at counter-attacking.

This game needs a goal. Although a 0 - 0 draw would probably suit both all right.
