Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
Robes literally just wrote he plays in central midfield though. Mancini tried to play him in ACM and even on the wings and he was, well, not too convincing there. And considering we technically lack a proper back up for Modric, the transfer makes some sort of sense. And more importantly, is Kovacic really a flavour of the month type?
Of course, it's surreal we are paying so much money for a supposed back up but whatever. I'm not an accountant working there.

11 games as CM and 8 games as AM last season. Typical offensive player
What lack of knowledge are you talking about? (:

Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
Just watched rom7ooo make Kovacic look simply awesome sauce on YT. No wonder Nick loves him.
Seriously, I see why Inter fans would actually miss him. He does look like (note, look like) a lovely talent. Sports and I share similar opinion on this though, just feel Madrid isn't the team for him.

Let talk an Inter fan.
Kovacic showed to be a midfielder in these Inter 3 years.
He played most of times as midfielder ( " regista " Pirlo-esque under Stramaccioni in those 5 months Stramaccioni was sacked then , " mezz ala " Iniesta-esque under Mazzarri - Mancini in 2nd half .) , and his best performaces were always in that role.
When he was CAM , he was really meh.
Mancini is not new to put players out their positions tbh.
He began with Kovacic as winger because he said Kovacic could be new D.Silva
then he changed as CAM because he didn't rely on Kovacic defensively ( Mancini is extremely demanding about it, he'd love always destroyer midfielders ) but then he had to renounce and then Kovacic was back at midfield, mezz ala, his role.
For me these useless changes blocked his growth process who was going to begin at the beginning of the season in that role of "mezz ala" on midfield..

If it follows the usual Inter story, he will become a Pirlo at Real.

Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
I don't get the comparison .
He was starter for 3 years, he had the trust since from the beginning ( given the n°10 even with no Inter matches played ) and he left just because the Real Madrid offered a big bid for him , almost 40 mln. Comparable to Illaramendi who leaves Real Sociedad for Real Madrid. Surely he wasn't refused or ransacked.

Pirlo was sold by Inter to Milan, a young talent at the time.

Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
Kovacic is the backup to Kroos, which we needed desperately as we burned Toni out last season. Casemiro will get time too. Assuming we play a 4231, a quartet of Kroos-Modric-Kovacic-Casemiro is perfect. Now, james-Bale start and Isco will rotate with them. Denis and Jesse backup CR and Benz. keeper and defense are stocked well too. We have a good makeup if used properly...

All we need now is De Gea. I have faith Uncle FLo will come through. We can win the treble this year for sure.

Just a few.
Boninsegna
Burgnich
Jair
Ronaldo
Pirlo
Coutinho
Santon
Even Ibrahimovic was an Inter player I think. Maybe a short term benefit for Eto but Ibra is still world class.

Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
Wtf ?
Seriously I don't get what you mean with this
Coutinho and Pirlo were 2 mistakes so I can get it here.
What about Ronaldo if we couldn't withheld because he wanted to escape for Madrid. And anyway we are in credit with them for Cambiasso ( 0 euro ) , Samuel and Sneijder ( but given Roberto Carlos ) . It's so easy to remind just the negative things
Maybe I get what you mean with the GOAT Bonimba (that swap Boninsegna-Anastasi ? ) ,
but well I dont' have REALLY idea what you mean with Jair Burgnich and Santon

Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
Ronaldo...as per Robespierre, you can't hold a player when he wants to move from Italy to Real Madrid, no matter what!
Pirlo....huge huge mistake by Inter with no excuse.
Coutinho.... in Inter he was a 18 years old unexperienced boy included in the team after a fresh UEFA Champions League victory and two years with Mourinho, which means everyone wanted things right and immediately. You could see Coutinho had something good ,but he was just so much out of context. Very delicate and shy, always falling on ground, I promise you he could barely shoot to the goal (you would never say it now after his last goal lol), I still remember when we were making jokes of him "they should give him more meat for lunch" ...now he is becoming a player, properly trained, his body is stronger, he has more personality. Everyone would have let him go back then.
For Inter right now Coutinho would be golden but in my team I wouldn't want him. We are still talking about a player in a very average Liverpool team. Leave him there and goodbye, there's much better around.
Santon...he currently is an Inter player.
Ibrahimovic was the best move from Inter in their history, thanks to that move they basically won the UEFA Champions League.
I don't know the other three players mentioned.
By the way, I agree Inter history is full of market disasters

Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
As every club in the world.
Anyway about Kovacic ...in Italy the large majority says the Inter made the big deal because the price is so high for a player surely talented ( personally I rate him very talented ) but inconsistent and never a real difference maker in these 3 years but off and on, in spurts. Just the Interisti look like skeptical and anyway sad for it ( it's normal when you leave a young talent guy loved by you - as SES for Milanisti - and expecially if you're conscious that money won't be invested ) . The time will say better. As fan I don't care about money got though , so if no players now....

Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
So how has he performed in the last two seasons?
Any chance some of us peasant clubs could snatch him up?

Would be a starter for everyone else tbh.

Most probably would tbh. He's a great midfielder. Had a hard time last season but he's been a beast for months now.

Re: Kovacic || Il Nuovo Trequartista
He more often than not looks somewhat toothless out there imo, at least compared to what is expected of him.
The youtube videos would have you thinking that he's a tremendous prospect with all those clips of his turns, his driving forward, his final passes, but in reality it's as if he fails to put that together convincingly in a single match, let alone matches.
He sometimes reminds me of Illarramendi because of his lack of impact and he often misplaces passes in ways that leave the impression that he doesn't have the kind of skill Kroos or Modric have to fire at will. It's like he's pretending to be a CM.

I think he's amazing tbh.
His raids up the field and close control are world class. He lacks passing in the final third to get his game to the next level. That can improve with consistent playtime.

Simply put, he's one of the squad players who are good enough to start for Madrid but have been unlucky enough to come to the club during the Kroos-Modric era.
Tremendous talent with the potential of becoming a world beater.

Is there even a remote possibility that he might want out? Have there been rumours? He would be a superstar in the Premier League with his dribbling skills and trickery.
