I have super high expectations can't wait to see him play for us and see what all the fuss is about.

I could care less how much money we can make off of him. We want to win.

the funny thing is that marcelo is even better than bale on the left, when it comes to playmaking from the wing.

Real Madrid assistant coach Paul Clement tells BBC Sport that both he and manager Carlo Ancelotti have been discussing how to use £85m-man Gareth Bale at Real Madrid. Clement, who worked with Ancelotti at Chelsea and Paris St-Germain, says the 24-year-old's ability to play in different positions during his career will benefit the Spanish giants.

"We've been talking about it a lot already," he said. "Carlo has an idea of how to use him - but things can change quickly. Carlo is a flexible enough coach to use Gareth and others in different capacities. Gareth brings that quality. At Southampton, he played at left-back which he also did at Spurs before becoming a more left-sided player and then moving more central.

Paul Clement on Bale

There's a lot of competition for places - no-one will be guaranteed anything. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has a clear idea how to use him but things can change. Carlo is flexible enough to use Gareth and other players in different capacities," Englishman Clement said.

"At Southampton, Bale played at left-back which he also did at Spurs where he became a more left-sided player. He recently became more central. He's got that versatility."

"It'll be interesting to see how players fit in together. We'll be trying to find their best position and what's best for the team as quickly as possible. Gareth has the goalscoring talent and ability to set up goals for others. We have a lot of exciting players here. [Striker Karim] Benzema is a great talent, while Isco plays in midfield but has chipped in with three goals already."

"Depending on how much or little he plays will depend whether he trains a week on Wednesday or Thursday leading into the first game at Villarreal away [Saturday, 14 September]," added Clement.

Clement suggested it would benefit Bale to "knuckle down" and learn the language.

"It's more challenging for a coach and manager than a player," he continued. "Communication is everything - you have to instruct and organise. It's up to Gareth to learn. A lot of players start having lessons at the club when they arrive. [Croatian] Luka Modric, who played with Gareth at Tottenham, had some lessons initially - he speaks in Spanish and English with the players."

"I'm sure Gareth will do the same. He spoke some lines during the news conference. It's a great life quality if he knuckles down and learns. Our communication with the team as a whole will be in Spanish."
interesting hmm

as poor as bale has been, you'll see his talent come january.

he'll play another 60 and a full game on the weekend. will come off the bench against juve.

patience is key. he'll prove to be a solid sporting investment.

Another Jonathan Woodgate potentially?? Really doesnt look fit or sharp to complete a match. Carlo needs to take a stand and let him become match fit before he plays him from the start again.....
And no more stupid experimentation please

yes, he must regain fitness before we throw him in the deep end. stupid mistake on the weekend - but that was all perez.

woodgate lol dont talk about that guy. almost as good as faubert! haha but at least he played.
Bale will come good. fitness and time to adapt to the league and surroundings.

The problem isn't his talent. he is talented. but not 100 million talented. and the other problem is the system and where he is going to play and if he can adjust or not.

btw can you imagine Di Maria and Jese doing better than Bale for rest of the season?

in that case he will become the biggest flop/worst transfer ever.

tbh, if jese is given the time that his potential deserves i think he would be a better suited player for madrid. but we all know that with the massive price on bales head this is not possible. I see di maria and jese both doing better than bale until january. after which i am hopeful bale will be more adapted to the team and league.

you make a good point regarding his effectiveness in the team. i think given time, not only will he adapt, but the team will too. ancelloti is yet to settle on a midfield which is detrimental to his performances. throw in his fitness woes and you have a poor canvas to start with. give it until january before you can judge his effectiveness in the system.

If performances was what Carlo based his line up on Bale would not have started period and Motara wouldn't have been left out of the whole friggin team and Arbeloa wouldn't have started all these games

some of it might be down to pleasing Perez and not embarrass him after he spent 100mill on an attacking player and some of it due to trusting the older players more than the young

if bale starts on Wednesday will that be because of Carlo's sole decision to start him or is he pressured to play a guy who hasn't even shown glimpses of quality yet this season but cost a fortune???? I get it Benzema hasn't performed very well this season but Morata has and he deserves to start not an overprized and overrated one tricky pony

why would playing bale in the biggest rivalry match please perez? especially if you are saying he wasnt fit enough and hasn't had enough decent performances.

that doesnt make logical sense.

if carlo wanted to please perez bale would be playing against stomp-prone la liga sides, not barca away from home.

bale was played out of necessity and tactical experimentation. simple as that. no need for this perez conspiracy theory.

if you hear hoof beats think horse not zebra.
