Which player dont use close control when dribbling? Does dribbling not in fact literally require the ball to be close to you?

I think people are saying dribbles that don't involve runs into space, like the ones Ronaldo does.

At least when I think "close control" I imagine if that player could dribble his way past one or two while near the corner flag. (although I'm pretty sure I've seen Ronaldo do that before.)

i'm surprised by non-inclusion of ADP in this topic and Messi(except barcelona fans) ... I fail to see how players like Ozil, Busquets and Modric have better close control dribbling than players mentioned above, they don't even deserve such a comparison in terms of dribbling... Actually the Messi one is quite hilarious, especially considering how short space Messi needs to dribble...

I've always taken close control dribbling to mean best dribbler in tight spaces, but yeah i suppose the current wording doesn't make sense

Vucinic, Pirlo, Giovinco, and Robben all have amazing close control.

Messi's close control is a beast to be honest. I think people who say Iniesta is better emphasise on the fact that Iniesta is a slower dribbler.

I agree Totti and Vučinić are fantastic slow-type dribblers.
