All catalan newspapers are reporting it although there's no official confirmation.

No official confirmation but there's no smoke without fire, and there's a lot of smoke. Rumours seem solid.

Horrible news. Very upsetting, particularly as the man has been excelling and no doubt relishing his new position.

If the relapse its true then we will definitely have to find a new manager (even just temporary). Best case scenario is he devotes his time to recovery and can return for next season.

I've been thinking about this. In our time of need, favourites will be Jordi Rouri, Luis Enrique, maybe Luis Milla and that other dude doing well in La Masia. However, could Pep return as caretaker?

Speculation that Tito will leave his post immediately and Barça will apoint a new manager. Guardiola possible.

Horrible news. Naturally I had thoughts about how this will effect our season, if it will take us off the rails...but in all honesty, my thoughts are with Tito and wish him well.

I'm sure Tito will recover, he's in very good shape and if that's true then his chances are high. A month might be optimistic, though. My girlfriend's father was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, he survived and was told he would see improvements to his health after a year, but that didn't start happening until about a 1.5-1.75 years after the surgery, so I'm a little skeptical.

Of course, anecdotal evidence is not exactly accurate, so just the opposite might happen.

Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova will have six weeks worth of treatment, and could yet still remain in the manager's job.

He looks strong as a person and very confident in his actions.. He can fight with the cancer, he'll also get the best possible treatment and care... Morally strong persons have better chance of survival (Lance Armstrong's cancer was very horrible), so being realistic i believe in his chances to cure...

While awful news, it's good it's been diagnosed very early. Hopefully we'll see Tito back in action before the end of the season, but I would understand if he decided to take a step back for the rest of the season, his health is above all, here.
