Flo Perez responds to Mourinho
http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2012/12/17/portada/1355749673_556627.html
"You should never give up. Not in sport, not in life and not when facing challenges."
This is after Mou said that winning La Liga was quasi-impossible. That's the problem with Mou... he's so involved with himself that he doesn't understand what it is to be Madridista. It's one thing to think that, which is absolutely normal. But to say it in public is just not consistent with the values of the club. How can you motivate players to fight if you concede that their goal is impossible?

Re: Flo Perez responds to Mourinho
Yeh, he probably shouldn't of said that in public. However he's being realistic.
Though I remember Mancini saying something similar last season and they ended up winning the EPL.

I think that, if we lose CDR tie this week, Mou is sacked. In fact, we'll need to show well in January and early February for Mou to stay on... if we continue on current form, i can't see him finishing the year.

Re: Flo Perez responds to Mourinho
The interesting part is that Puyol understands Madrid better than Mou lol. He said today "If there's one team that never gives up, it is Real Madrid."

I think he'll be sacked if Madrid crash out of the CL. That's the priority for Madrid this season.

That's if he doesn't get another job for the next 4 years. The contract says that we keep paying his salary until the earlier of a) Mou accepting another job or b) his contract runs out. Most contracts are like that for managers actually. There may be a termination fee; but it won't be anything like that. It's usually 6-12 months of wages guaranteed if you waive the remaining life of the contract.

Re: Flo Perez responds to Mourinho
People shouldn't be surprised by this as Mourinho isn't exactly what you call a "leader". Yes he is a fantastic (short term) mental guru and manipulator yet he possesses very little leadership traits hence. His influential circumference barely extends beyond himself.
Iker Casillas, now that's a leader.

Thats great and all but Im not really fond of having GKs as captains. They never have that leadership in a pitch when it matters most.. Xabi would be a better candidate imo.

Mate your in chat often so you've seen how many times GK fanatic Rwo and I argue over why or why not GK should not be on field captains (You can guess who is siding with GK as captains here). So I'm with you 100% on this opinion. My praise of Casillas doesn't pertain to on-pitch as the leadership grasp must extend beyond that and into the locker room and just outside football as Casillas is still a leader despite not being ideal for captain due to his position. I'm sure you'll agree with me on this.
Frankly, I've been calling for Xabi as captain for quite some while actually yet this opinion isn't popular along with me being accused of Basque bias. But his leadership is undeniable. Future Madrid leaders? No one in the front line so far, Varane has displayed some qualities of a leader while Khedira if he improves his poor Espanol can also lead Madrid as he did the same for Stuttgart. My choice is Xabi nonetheless.

Re: Flo Perez responds to Mourinho
this is nitpicking , lets criticise him for our side's bad performances , lack of chances created, terrible defending at set pieces rather than more insignificant things like these
I dont want him long term at madrid either, but i dont think sacking him in the middle of the season is a good idea

but xabi is not good enough on the pitch to me, so for the future it's not a good choice imo.
ramos is a knucklehead still, but he will make a great leader in his late years i think. the passion and the will to lead and commend is already there

I'm aware of your opinions on Xabi as I have to disagree as I feel you are underestimating his contribution despite his admitted drop in form. Yet he is in the twilight of his career yet it wouldn't hurt for him to captain games when necessary. Plus I only comment on his traits and not if he should be considered for long term captain.
Ramos might possess those raw leadership qualities yet its a different game for being a captain as you need a cool, calm and composed head which he doesn't possess despite his improvements.

Re: Flo Perez responds to Mourinho
I dont agree with that, he was immense for us last season , his expansive play is vital for our counter game, may not be a great dm or a dm at all but still does his fair share of defensive work, always willing to take a yellow card for the team when we are caught out .

Re: Flo Perez responds to Mourinho
Perez is now the epitome of "being Madridista"?
This is the guy that enabled Mou to do everything he has done. The minute he sacked Valdano was the minute Madrid stopped being Madrid.

Hold on, while I agree with you on how excellent he was Hades... why have you gotten the idea that he is a DM? Alonso's role is one of a deep lying playmaker with Khedira as the defensive screening man to anchor the midfield and protect Alonso.

He doesn't take a yellow for the team, he's a poor tackler that can't pull it off without being lateLord Hades wrote: I dont agree with that, he was immense for us last season , his expansive play is vital for our counter game, may not be a great dm or a dm at all but still does his fair share of defensive work, always willing to take a yellow card for the team when we are caught out .
Modric does 90% of what Xabi does, but better. Unfortunately for you guys, Xabi is the captain within the pitch (Iker is too far away) and thus is untouchable.

no one said perez is the epitome of madridismo and he is actually in a very bad position because he backed mourinho for so long.
I seriously risks to lose the next election if a strong enough candidate rises up.
During the last socios meeting he got them to change the rule on the conditions to be eligible as president. it was said that he tried to eliminate a group an association of rich and powerful madridistas coming together to unlodge him. He is on a hot seat.
As a financial guru he is genius, but an actually poor leader for us in football terms. He tried to let Mourinho handle that part for him but it's backfiring.
