Source would be great...
We will move eventually, Stamford Birdge is not big enough. We need 60-70k seats.

They are gonna build a stadium inside of it???
Just kidding, but I like Stamford Bridge and it's traditional English style, I hope if they build a new one it will be the same style, not the Emirates Stadium trend that every club want's to build

Nevermind, our official website has it.
Sounds interesting, keeping the 4 chimneys will be a challenge and would look strange.

Wow...#cfc submit bid for Battersea Power Station. Plan for 60,000-seater stadium. Famous original features 'will be retained'

No news yet on whether #cfc's planned stadium will be called the Battersea Drogs Home

seriously if it were possible to leave that structure and build the stadium within it that would be the most intimidating stadium ever.

Unrelated but a heads up for chelsea fans
Drogba will be on tonights Graham Norton show.
Should be intresting, dont think he has ever had a footballer on.
Anyway that has the potential to be a crackign stadium. But I cant see it happening tbh.
There will be Chelsea fans who get offended and hold them back. IIRC the chelsea supporters own the pitch or something along those lines and if they moved they would have to change the name or something.

Re: Chelsea submit bid for Battersea Power Station, plans for 60,000 seat stadium
The thing is, the Chelsea fans that were opposing the move at first, were not actually saying we shouldn't move to a new stadium(at least majority of this bunch). They wanted the club to assure them and show proof that there is a plan in place for a new stadium.NiallQuinnsdiscoPants wrote:Unrelated but a heads up for chelsea fans

SayNoCPO(the group of CFC fans that opposed the move) are made up mostly of the fans that contributed to buy the pitch at Stamford Bridge in the early '90s to help the club financially. The club CANNOT move from Stamford Bridge without buying back the pitch from them. They're still very protective when it comes to Chelsea, so they wanted assurance from the club that there was a solid plan in place, which the club did not provide at first.
I have no doubt that with this step, the SayNoCPO will approve the move.
Btw, the name does not have to be changed. Battersee is within 3 miles of Stamford Bridge.

"Working with architects and planning experts, we have developed a plan to preserve all the significant aspects of Battersea Power Station.
"The four iconic chimneys and wash towers along with the Grade II* listed west turbine hall and control room will be restored and retained in their original locations and provide a unique architectural backdrop to a world-class stadium with a capacity of around 60,000 seats.
"Following feedback from fans, our initial plans include a 15,000 all-seated one-tier stand behind the south goal, likely to be the biggest one-tier stand in football.
"Also as suggested by many fans, the stadium proposed is rectangular in shape with four separate stands. The design includes a bigger family area and more room for disabled supporters.
"As well as a new home for our club, the development would include a town centre with substantial street-level retail shops, affordable housing and offices - all of which would benefit Wandsworth and bring a significant number of permanent jobs to the area.
"We would also make a significant contribution towards the Northern Line Extension, a new high-volume transport link proposed for the area. We will keep our fans updated as the process develops.''

Re: Chelsea submit bid for Battersea Power Station, plans for 60,000 seat stadium
Nice, here's hoping it'll happen
I hear there are other parties interested in buying the property, too.
If Chelsea end up building a stadium there, it'd be awesome if it had parts of the power plant somehow in it (without looking ugly).
I wonder what's their financing plan for this? Simply Abramovich?

Chelsea is about to have a beautiful looking dungeon lol. I'd be scared to play in that place as it's constituted. I mean really, a power plant? That's awesome.

A modern football stadium that won't look like a spaceship. I like it.
