The Arsenal Board Empty The Arsenal Board

Post by Highburied Sun Jan 15, 2012 10:58 pm

I think its time supporters turn their heads to these profit makers.

I dont trust them a bit and losing patience everyday.

My problem with Wenger is, he should tell us the REAL truth not some usual BS like he does. My head explodes when I hear his excuses on transfer market.

So my question is, do you trust our board and what should be done to wake the f*ck them up?

I don't know the full story, thus I won't comment on the board. I speculated on it in the summer, and realise now there's too much I don't know to make a definitive judgment on this issue.

I know long term all this money hoarding is going to make sence, since we pay off the stadium faster and can then invest like the big guns, but I do agree it's a bit excessive. I wouldn't put it all down on the board, though, because Wenger obviously understand this and supports it.

Not much we can do apart from being patient.

Right now that our potential CL slot is in jeopardy, I do think we have to spend a bit, since not hitting CL would mean a financial disaster in it's own.

I don't know who's fault it was for selling Nasri and Fabregas so late in the transfer window, but that was a huge mistake we're half paying right now, since we might have been able to get better players at cheaper prices.

We dont know the full story but I truly always have believed that Wenger runs Arsenal. The board will listen to what ever Wenger says the same way the board allowed Cesc to leave cus Wenger asked them to let him leave.

The board says there is money for Wenger to spend, and Wenger said he would spent 40 to 50 million on a right player. If Wenger says to the board I want this player and the players cost this much the board says go and buy the player cus the trust him.

What Wengers problem is that he says we have a big squad and does not look in to buying players. If we spend now all we have to do is sell some players, teams love Arsenal reject and we can get ride of the easy.

the funny thing about this is..

Kroenke's team in the NFL are total $hit, his NBA team are not even competitive anymore traded their best player to the knicks

his purchase of arsenal was clearly, for corporate reasons

don't be surprised to see walmart on an arsenal shirt some day boys.. don't be

Usmanov has too much money I dont think any will ever question where he got the money to buy any player.

From an Arsenal fan.
And i know this carries on the broken record on this forum but the lack of signings where we need them is criminal. Its a huge smack in the face to everyone who loves the club and wants to see them at the top where they should be. I despise the board.

Dont know what the point is in even writing this...no ones voice is heard by anyne who can make any difference. All we can do is continue to get mugged off by the pocket liners running the club and just get behind the team even though its a clear as day to every man and his dog what needs to change.

Roll on Man utd game...and heres to another 7 years of pure garbage...minus champions league football. "in Arsène we standby and watch everything fall to pieces"

If Walmart want to pay us a lot of money then who gives a crap if their name is on our shirts?

I've said enough on the Usmanov vs Kroneke thing. I don't want to open that can of worms again.

The board have obviously taken a conservative approach when it comes to finances. In times when more and more clubs are going out of business, and the future of bigger sides becoming more and more uncertain, this is an approach I cannot criticise.

The real question is, is the money there or isn't it? How much can we really spend on a player? If you believe reports of big-money bids for certain players in the summer, then the money is there and the club is willing to spend it - the bids merely came too late in the window for the selling teams to accept.

But then, those are reports and can't be confirmed as true. It's not 100% evidence of anything.

And, of course, we have to consider there was a healthy £50mil or so by selling two players.

The board aren't going to be transparent on this issue. We're always going to hear conflicting reports on how much money we have to spend. Personally, if we've got little money to spend I'd rather they came out and told us, but I understand it's not as simple as that.

How can they come out and say we have little amount of money? the whole worlds knows all we do is profit year after year and we have been selling our players big money and we bought them for nothing.

Everything is expensive about Arsenal, big fan base, crazy ticket prices. How can a board tell the fans they have no money. Year after year we get CL money and right after we sell our players.

This is not a replay to you Jay just pissed off all the lies.

Running a football club is more expensive than you may realise. Ticket sales, CL money and all doesn't all go into the transfer kitty. There's operating costs and debt payments to consider, too.

This is the thing; we don't know if it's lies or truth. They say we don't have that much, then they say we do, then they say we don't... which is why, no matter what, some transparency would be nice.

I know and I do agree with you on that.

Did Kroenke's invest any money on Arsenal or we just had to sell players to pay our debts?

Most new owners put a lot of money in to their team at first, I am not sure if Kroenke did.
