Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
Honestly, I think Llorente for the national team is ludicrously overrated. He doesn't fit in with the playing style at all, could be a good option for the bench, but I shake my head every time someone makes a Spain formation with him starting.

didnt VDB call montoya and Thiago when they were in Adelante? gtfo
Exactly.
None of those guys will be in the Euro squad tho.

Callejon does fit the profile to be called up
>Plays for Real or Barca? check

Montoya was called up because Spain have no decent RB's.
Oh and Madrid fans hyping up yet another average footballer.

Not one of you have answered my question...is Callejon a regular starter at Madrid? Was his 14 appearances just sub roles or starts in pointless games?
If so then how people can suggest he should be called up or even be starting ahead of Mata ( :lol!: :lol!: ) is beyond me.

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
Does Mata score goals? Spain has a problem finishing chances, not creating them. Callejon is clearly better at making runs and finishing

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
Callejon isn't a starter....neither is Mata so calm down.
They're different players who offer really different things.....no one is comparing them.
The only players Callejon could replace in the squad are Pedro......and if Del BOsque feel's like taking an extra coring option, Jesus Navas.
Spain lack finishing, and he's been good in that department.....not saying he should be in the squad.....just saying that his qualities are those which Spain kind of lack ATM so that's why the threat appeared.
Spain is a team full of Mata's and although Callejon and Pedro aren't as good as them.....they certainly have their place and their job......
NB: I am not saying that Callejon is as good or better than Mata and/or Pedro.

I suggest you look at their respective goal records in La Liga.

No point Gil.
Read somewhere Callejon is a better finisher than Ronaldo. Can't make this shit up.

I don't know why people don't want to see Callejon in the national team. maybe two certain Chelsea fans thinks Torres will be dropped out if Callejon gets called up.

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
Bit early for all this isnt it?
I dont think anybody should be replacing Villa (for the Euro´s) based on what they are doing now. Makes more sense to wait and see further down the line.
All pointless though I believe, Villa will make it back.

Nice conclusion you came up there. Maybe you should realize what other non-Madrid fans are pointing out as well which is that if Callejon barely plays for Madrid (still no one answered that question of mine ) then there's no way he's going to get called up for Spain. It's all nice that he scores goals with the rare appearances he gets, but what matters is consistency and he isn't going to get consistency if Mourinho continues to treat him the way he does even though Madrid fans feel he has done enough to start for Spain. If he has done enough to start for the world champions in you guys' opinion then why isn't he starting for Madrid? Maybe he is good enough for Spain, but as always is the case NT's want to see players starting regularly in order for consideration.
Saying he should start ahead of proven regulars just because he scores goals and Mata/Villa etc don't is complete bullocks.
And no before someone says anything I'm not saying Torres should get called up.

He's featured in like 2/3rds of the games Madrid has played this season, and recently started against Sevilla in the 6-2. Why try to talk with authority about something that you're completely ignorant of?

If he gets a regular starting spot at Real Madrid and scores in significant games then sure.
However Villa could still be back.

May not have said it directly but the amount of hype and praise the madrid fans are giving this guy it seems many madrid fans think so.

No it's the arrogance in that i've never heard anybody give him praise or say he's class, or anything even remotely close to getting a callup. Next thing he moves to madrid and deserves every praise under the sun?

Re: Should Callejon replace Villa?
I do like what I've seen of callejon for RM, he's a good player no doubt. But if Villa is available, I'd take Villa for la roja anyday. Has callejon ever even played for the NT?
